    LoL too Funny Spend most of my time there in this Position, Thought we were gonna get bed sores from not moving. Anywho I just wanted to point out what i used to do, was kinda neat to see it on yahoo News. Most of the time i had my SR25 7.62mm Stoner rifle , with M4 with silencer.

    I feel for them and thier familys!

    Ya know im very proud of my time in the serviceand it is cool, but i will say it hurts my heart to think of theese troops we have deployed now. I hope we all take a moment to think about what thier day is like on a daily basis and not just keep them outta side outta mind. You dont have to support the war , but the Troops are there and believe me they are haveing a worse day than use even on our bad days. They and thier familys should be in all our prayers.

    Yes is the short answer and no i wont go into detail about them. I try not to think of it, even though its always in the back of my mind......


    Hope that doesnt make people look at me in a different light now. A few of you old timers knew already though.

    At least he doesn't have to count for barometric pressure, wind and rising heat off of blacktop to score a kill in BF: V.

    I wish I could share pics of me while I was in service, but you guys would hardly recognize me!

    I had such a baby face when I went in. Seriously. Even at 25 I was being carded until I grew my Goatee.

    My pops was in the navy during the vietnam era. After his service, he took college classes at a university (GI Bill). Anyways there was a sniper guy in a current events/discussion class. The guy really didn't say much and kept to himself mostly.

    One day, the class had an anti-war activist speaker who started running at the mouth about the war and how terrible it was that Americans were shooting children. Well, this really pissed off the sniper guy and he stood up and challenged this jane fonda type right to her face.

    The sniper guy said something to the effect of:

    F--- you lady! I was a sniper in Vietnam and hell yeah I shot children. Those children were carrying bombs and were walking towards our troops trying to blow them up. I did my job and I'd do it again if I had to.

    After his monologue the sniper guy never showed up to class again.

    My liberal studies professor said something today that made me think. He talked about how if Bush gets re-elected that anyone over 18 (im 19) should be worried about the possibility of the draft being initiated b/c our military is getting stretched to capacity.

    Is this really a possibility? Dont get me wrong, i would go and fight for my country, the country i love to live in, at anytime the people in power think i am needed. Then a friend said not to worry because they dont draft kids in college? I dont know im confused a/b the whole thing and there seems to be alot of military people in the cdl :love:

    I dont wanna get all political, just someone could explain more? Thx

    In order to draft people, you need a vote from Congress. And seeing as how the Democrats may possibly sweep through and gain Congress again, you probably won't see this happening.

    I beg to differ with you on that. Just so you know it was talk of several democrats to bring back the draft becuase they felt that the poor of this country were doing the fighting for the rich. I rather doubt either side will bring back the draft, its potical suicide. I also doubt the demcrats will make in roads on congress or the senate. They have nothing new to say.

    The draft will not be an issue. We have a strong military based on the volunteer force and won't require a draft in the foreseeable future. As a matter of fact, the Air Force is cutting quite a few positions in the coming years. No worries about a draft.

    People like to wave the draft around to get some people to worry. It isn't on the table. :D
