It's kind of fun. I wanted to get an RTS WWII game and this one got some pretty good marks.

It isn't a multi-player game as much as one person versus another. There are some pretty good scenarios that are very difficult to win. I am trying to work my way through this desert one that seems easy up front, but I got my butt handed to me on the end of an enemy howitzer and some enemy air support. Taught me to watch running in with my big guns and no AAA. Snipers are great for forward artillery observers. They have binoculars and can really be a great asset.

Could never get into strategy games on the PC or anywhere else. I just want to go in and blow stuff up. Or have someone order me to go and blow stuff up.

  5. Personally, now that the expansion pack is released, C&C Generals is a very attractive, and fun RTS. It has some of the niceest particle effects, and has lots of eye candy. The new expansion makes the AI ten times more difficult than in the original game (on hard). There are 3 new variations of each side to play as.

    USA:
-Airforce General (Has no tanks, but has vastly superior air power)
-Super Weapon General (Has no tanks, but has super reactors, and supersonic fighters that drop fuel air bombs)
-Laser General (Has laser tanks in place of the 2 normal US tanks, and laser turrets in place of patriot missiles, they are extremely accurate and destructive)

    China:
-Infantry General (has Minigunner instead of red guard, infantry start veteran, has super bunkers, has combat helix helicopters)
-Nuke General (Tactical nuke migs, advanced reactors, all tanks start with uranuim shells)
-Tank General (Has access to the emperor overlord, the most powerful tank in the game)

    GLA:
Demolition general (all units rigged with explosives, has no chemical weapons)
Toxin general (All tanks start with toxin shells, can build toxing rebels, and toxing tunnel networks)
Stealth General (All buildings can become invisible with camo netting upgrade, gets bonuses to stealth)

These are just some of the most basic features to each general, additonally, there are new units, and the General's challenge missions, where you play as a certain general, and attack the strongholds of the opposing generals. Making a total option of 12 different selections in multiplayer, and skrimish games you can choose the general that really fits your play style. If you are looking for an explosive, and fun package that loosely reflects aspects of modern war, then C&C Generals, and C&C Generals: Zero Hour is for you.
