I heard a calling, it sounded like home

  1. The hills where green with the summer foilage. I heard it again, the calling, the whispers of my name, calling me out, telling me I am far from home.

For many moons I was restless, but I have gathered what I own, my armour, hides from those that lived and died in my homeland, my staff, a sturdy piece of living wood and I travelled forth. I travelled north, but the sounds of the woodland creatures followed me, calling my name, Doquantia we can see your heart and are calling you home.

What kind of madness could this be, yes I have been restless but I am home amongst the living trees, following the paths of their magics, living in harmony with them. So I travelled south, long across the open dessert, the hot sun beating down upon me, not a living soul around. Even my foot prints where cleansed away mere minutes after they where left. Here I know I can find peace. But again I hear the voices, small whispers, small chants, come home, come home, like a heartbeat they talk. I can feel the blood matching the chanting, I howl into the night as I shift into the shape of a bear, running long and hard from the voices.

I wake, how many days has it been? How many months? Have I travelled east this whole time? I have crossed the seas, to the Islands on the east, to the strange creatures, short stubby bald headed fellows that talk funny. Hear amongst the noise I can get lost, I know it this time. I am drinking my ale, dwarven they say, not bad when I hear it, the hammer on the anvil, the clank of steel as it is being bent to shape. The hammer hits, clang -come home - then strikes again, clang - come home - again clang - come home. My blood pumps to it, the hammer matches my pulse, the words like a wind whispering softly to me.

West I travel now, with a purpose, the calling is loud, it is a part of me, the rytham of my body as I run down the path that only I can see. Shifting to bear form it shifts this beat, matching me perfectly. I slip into the the lake, changing once again, and the beat changes with me, calling me home.

I stand before the doors. The sounds from within warm my heart. The laughter lifts my soul. I stand before the doors that have withstood time, have been weathered by companionship, locked by loyalty, opened by honor.

From within the voice does call, it is calling to me to take my place at home, beside the fire in the fireplace, at the table swapping stories.

Here lies, Honor, Valor and the Victory that comes from being a Dragonwolf. Here is where I hope the calling has brought me, here is where I wish to rest my sword, Clan Draconus Lupous.

For as long as I have carried the banner of the CDL, aye, even through the Dark Days, the Halls of the CDL have held my heart secure. These hallowed Halls call to those who may hear them. Those that hear them must answer the call, or spend eternity lonely.

I have seen from the early days as those called ones stepped out of the darkness of night, out of the rains, out of the blazing sand-swept deserts, always seeking to answer a call that cannot be denied. We were small in number in those ancient days - we had fellowship and family. Now we are swelled with the strength of they that answered.

Doquantai, you have stepped to the doors of the Halls. You have offered up your heart to the voices that call you. You have found Home; rest here with us and share your tales with us. We welcome you.
