I Need Your Opinion Now

The way I see it your choices are

A) Your wife will be very upset and hold it against you for a very long time in the way that only woman can do. Your duaghter may get sick, and she may not.

The only deffinate I see if that your wife will be really pissed off if you don't dring her.

Do the right thing MTX. Take the kid.

 

Feed her and then play with her prior to putting her in the car. Then drive durring her normal napping hours and she will sleep like......well....like a baby

 

Eh, not meaning to get personal, but why is your wife 6 hours away and why has she not seen your daughter in 3 months?

Sounds like your 6 hours of missery with a baby in the car would be well worth the joy you would bring to your wife by letting her see her baby.

Having three daughters myself I might have some insight for you.

Sure, you could opt to please the wife and take the baby risking the chance she would get sick. But what are the reason(s)?

-Make the wife happy by letting her see her daughter

I am assuming you two are no longer together? If not, then why can't the mother come to you? Travelling with a small baby by yourself is difficult at best. Its possible, mind you, but difficult. The baby, being as babies are, will require a lot more attention than you can possibly give while you are driving. Don't get me wrong, I am sure you are quite capable. But that is not the question...

The best interest of the child is paramount here. In my opinion you must place the welfare of the baby over the desires of the concerned adults. I don't know all the details, but from what I have read, the mom could come and visit?

She needs to see that baby, mtx. She's the mother. See if she can do the driving. If not, do your best to get that baby to your wife. If it's been 3 months since Cathy's seen her, chances are your daughter needs to be reminded about who Cathy is.

 

Ah, okay, I see now. That changes things a little. If I was MTX and my wife was stationed elsewhere and needed to see our baby, then I would drive the baby there taking it very easily with many stops for "baby comforting and attention".

I would take time during the trip to stop and play with her and comfort her if she needed me to.

But maybe he will be blessed with a baby girl who sleeps when she rides in the car!
