I think I know who WinterKnight is after all these years

Discussion in 'General Open/Public Discussion' started by Dragon, 7 Dec 2004.

  1. I've know Winterknight since T1 and even when he joined us in -CDL- days.
But I never really knew his true Ident till reading the =oV= forums of lately and I think he gave me a big clue. Manitou do you know his true ident? If so I will PM you and see if I am right. I dont want to say it in pub out of common courtesy. Winterknight has always been the most calmest and most honorable poster I have ever seen - even in the threads of flame from past days of days of days in various forms he always post something nice. Hats off to you Winterknight.

  2. ok i dont completey understand whats your saying.

  3. Dragon, Thank you for the kind compliments. I have always been WinterKnight since my days of starting days of Tribes 1, except for the time I changed my name to (-RA-)DarkKnight. I started as a Independent until I honed my skills and earned my way into my first clan which was V3. After the fall of V3 in January of 2000, I served with the clan Tribe Independence. When I chose to end my tenure with Tribe IND, I went to RA. At this time is when I changed my name to (-RA-)DarkKnight out of respect for the full description of the RA Tag. I could not fit (-RA-)WinterKnight, Too many characters for the name description.

After my with RA came to a end, I joined CDL as -CDL-WinterNight. I served with CDL until CDL made the choice to move on to Tribes 2. I decided to keep my career of Tribes within Tribes 1 and retire when Tribes 1 finally ends.

For a while I was a independent playing on the Australian IX servers until they came to end. During that time, I was approached by ex-V3 members Otman and Happy Ninja, They wanted to form one last IX clan with the members of the old IX guard. The clan was named SA (Silent Assassins).

I served with SA until they made the choice to move to Tribes 2. At this time I went back to being a independent until I was asked to join FOE (Foes Of Evil). This was a Australian IX/Base clan and I represented their IX division.
With Tribes 1 IX dying and the Australian IX servers becoming more and more scarse and less and less interest in Insomniax by thier clan, I left and I l left FOE and became an independent once again.

At this time I took a break from on-line gaming and when I decided to try BattleField 1942, I requested Manitou if I could once again don the CDL tag,
He gracefully permitted for me to do so. I was very grateful for Manitou for allowing this.

I played Tribes 1 Shifter and Renegades for a while, I decided that my time had come to retire from Tribes 1 was coming very soon, Very Rarely whenever I get the chance, I will play Tribes 1 from time to time. I know that my time will come very soon when I fully stop playing Tribes 1. I know I have made posts that I said I was retiring from on-line gaming and that I would not be seen again, But there is always something that pulls me back to join the fields of battle again. After Manitou wrote the story about the Battle of Katabalic ( I apologize, I forgot the spelling), When WinterKnight fell in battle, it made me realize how great the people are that belong to the Tribes community. The great comraderie that I have had with many great people over the years. It is the reason why I have enjoyed being part of forums like this one and a few others. The great friendships that I have been blessed to have over the years with truly great people that share a common interest in not only the games themselves, but the communities that they belong to. When I do decide to retire, I will walk away with a great feeling inside knowing that the expieriences that I have had I will always remember. I will never forget the great people that I met through my journeys.

For all the great players that I have had the honor to have played with over the years and known and to enjoyed thier friendship, I salute you all, and wish the best for you and your families in the years to come. May God Bless you all always.

    WinterKnight

Hail WinterKnight! I would be beyond honored to call WinterKnight my brother, although he is called such as a fellow Dragon Wolf!

Good to see you still ride, great warrior. Your sword arm has never failed and I know it shall remain unfailing for many years to come!

  8. GroundChuk and FullOtto are Mani's brothers.

Although I'm still mad at Otto for not posting the Test-Polar Bear picture! :D

I know this is off topic but, what's =oV= 's site again? I Was in =oV= when Happy Ninja and crew started =oV=

I wasn't in =oV= for more than a year cause I got sick of Tribes 2. So I sort of just drifted off. I'd like to stop by and see how they're doing.
