    Thanks. :)

I missed you guys a lot too. I had the best time, really. Funny how we had car trouble so no air conditioning going into the mountains on a hot day but it was so beautiful to watch these hawks circling over a cliff and to look out in the distance at purple mountain tops, to see horses grazing on grassy rolling hills beneath the peaks. Then it started to rain so we had to roll up the windows. We just laughed.

It was so good to see my family. Especially my Grandmother. She doesn't speak much now, I'm told so it made me feel incredibly good that she spoke to me. She fed my kids jellybeans, offered me a sip of her juice and didn't want to let go of my hand. Even when she was exausted and falling asleep, she didn't want to let go of my hand. I'm her favorite.

I got to hear a lioness roar. It was an amazing experience. I could feel the sound of her roaring deep in my chest. It was almost like she was singing in a deep, throaty, undescribable way.

My son swam by himself for the first time in his life and he rode a quarter horse named Zen. This horse was the cuddliest and most gentle creature. He tickled my neck and arms with his lips and he was so funny. He liked people to play with his lips. I think my son would have stayed on Zen's back for the rest of his life if I let him.

My daugter rode a sweet black and white icelandic draft horse named Lucas. Lucas was so beautiful with his long, thick mane. Brooke brushed him gently before she rode him, just like her Aunt Michelle showed her. He was gated so he gave her the smoothest ride. She looked so confident on his back. She washed him off and put him back in his paddock before turning him out to the pasture where he promptly proceeded to roll around in the dirt.

I think it was the gentle guidance of their Aunt Michelle that made them feel so comfortable with these horses.

My kids played with their cousins and I took them to some of my favorite places, showed them where we used to live, showed Brooke where she was born.

Every morning I found Troy in his Uncle Dave's office cuddling with Bailey, a yellow lab and Casper, a black lab while his Uncle Dave spoke to customer's in the UK. Troy loved these dogs so much. He wanted to take Casper home. Casper had an odd habit of putting a bone in the middle of the living room carpet and then rolling around on her back on top of the bone. She was using it to scratch her back. Then Bailey would bark at her after two minutes of this as though he was scolding her. She would immediately cease rolling around, look at him and he would take her bone away. They did this every day.

We got to visit my Dad and my kids got to see the house he designed with it's geothermal heating and passive solar system along with some other cool features. Their last chance to see it before he sells it to travel around the US for a bit with my Step Mom in their new trailer.

The smokies really do look smoky. It's because they're in the clouds. We drove through clouds on the way home.

Anyway, I had a really good time. :)

That's so neat Sky, but it makes me want to go back to South Africa again and see all my family.

Winter, so good to hear from you. I'm thinking I may pick T1 up again soon, if I can successfully get a ski script installed. Would be nice to play with you again.

  19. It would be a pleasure HalftheSky, I wish there was a game left in Tribes 1 IX to play. I am fully retired from Tribes 1 now. I just like to come to these and other Forum boards to stay in contact with great people.

I still have the screen shots that you and I took on Canyon Crusade DOX maps. Fond Memories that will never go away...
