Kick azz Jedi Knight II

KO, they are making a DAoC style Star Wars game. You get to start out as a Jedi, an Rebel Fighter piolet (flying X-wings) or you can be a smuggler like Han Solo was.

I think you can even be a bounty hunter like Bobba Fett. I try to avoid looking at the site to often because it makes me drool cause it looks so awsome.

I found that link when I was looking for the Planetside site. They are both being made by Sony so they should both be good.

I can't find Ren anywhere. Hell i just found MoHAA last Thursday.

Ok, starwars galaxies looks really sweet, the screen shot graphics look amazing.

But how come games never really look like the screenshots?

 

because they have people retuch the pictures so it looks better.

 

Because the only run on "Magical Development Systems" that are only available to people in the secret game development industry. Once the game goes to beta and people have to run it on their real systems they all say "Nice Graphics. Too bad I can only get .5 FPS", and the game developers say "We get 100 FPS durring nuclear holocaust, while fighting 6000 flying bats of death on our Magical Development Systems, you need to upgrade"

Then after we all spend $1000's upgrading they remove all the Trees, half the bases, the Nuclear Houocaust, all but 2 of the flying bat's of death, slow game play to a crawl, and add fog so the your lucky if you can see past the end of your own gun. Just so people won't send it back.

All that and you'll still never see the 100 FPS they get on the magic machines.

i found out abawt it last yere thats why i went out and got DAoC so i could get the feal of a online RPG so i wouldent spend preshus seconds figyering out the baesiks..

well im shere ill never see it anyway sins lucus is a deatail fanatik and the min. req will probaly be one of thows magical develiper masheens you where tawkin abawt.and itl be like T2 wus ,it wus suposd to be out now but has ben pushed back 3 times so in a cupal of yeres some BOOB will push it out anyway and it will nead 35000 patches and still be crappy .but alas ill still be a moron and pree order it so i can have it the very 1st day..

City of Heros is going to kick ass.

 

Starwars looks cool, I heard planetside will be sweet but I still have to check it out, not into city of heroes. Shadowbane will be uber though....

 

That shit cracks me up, you guys always say stuff about paying for a game each month. I'm actually about to start running 2 DAOC accounts which results in about $24 a month. But how many of you have bought 3 or 4 or 5 games in the past 2 months? That is about $40 bucks a month and some of the games you guys play for a week. I mean Empire Earth, Ghost Recon, Medal of Honor, RTCW, Renegades, and all the other ones i'm forgettings. I bet you guys still spend a lot more a month on games than I do. All you would have to do is to buy 1 new game and you would be doubling my monthly gameing expenses. I bought T2. Then I bought DAOC, haven't bought a new game since. I'm saving money by not buying all these games, not wasting it paying a monthly fee.

 

I agree with Hamma.

I buy other games so that I can play them when I need a break from T2, but then I always end up playing T2 anyway. Like the other night I was gonna play MoH, and I sat down at the comp, fired up T2 out of habbit and ended up playing it for a few hours.

The only good thing about pay to play, is that everybody has to chip in to cover the cost of running the servers. See Hamma really does pay to play T2 because he foots the bill for the lair. With pay to play everyone has to chip in or they don't to play.

 

Hamma if you bought pay to play games like you do regular games nothing would change. You would pay the $50 for the game, one week later you would put it down and go back to T2 and it would cost you nothing b/c it comes with 30 days online play

And as far as entertainment goes. Lets say I only play DAOC for 10 hours every week.....its probably close to double that but we wont go there , thats 25 cents an hour. Man you cant do better than that

Personally I like the idea of paying monthly. It makes the company responsible to its users because they are dependent on them for continued income. If I don't like what they are doing, i quit and keep my money.

Personally I would choke if there things when to $20 a month, that starts to sound like a lot of money (for one account ). Hell Everquest has a $40 a month server now and they had no trouble filling it. Personally i would rather pay $10 a month than suffer though the bullshit of the free battlenet ever again. Diablo 2 was awesome, I had a lot of fun, but will not buy Diablo 3 or any other game that run on the battlenet w/o some guarentee that it won't be complete shit like it was with D2.
