I saw Peter Jackson's version of King Kong and it is amazing. Although there was one scene that I felt could have been cut, I believe it was really well done. If you are going to see the movie or already have, I would definitely suggest watching the original 1933 version. Being able to see what lines and scenery is taken directly from the original and what is added absolutely makes the movie more enjoyable.

  2. I had an opposite reaction. While I understand that major amounts of CG must be used (I'm OK with that, not a problem), I was disappointed at just how unbeliveable things were. The scene I couldn't believe made it into the film was

When they were running from the dinosaurs through the canyon on skull island. That was OK, but what made me say "Oh yeah right. You're kidding me" was when one of the characters (I think it was the famous male actor.. baxter?) was running behind a raptor and it tripped and fell and he leaped over it, KICKING it in the head in mid air and then landing safely and continuing to run. Bull honky.

That, and I would've liked to see Jackson take this movie into his own a little more. I didn't like the cheesy, overacted lines given by some of the characters. (Yes, I know they were lines from the old movie and they were trying to recreate it, but this is 2005(6), not 1930. Update it more.)

The end sequence of the movie was spectacular, though. Starting from being in the theater to the end, it was a great movie.

I left the movie theather thinking they could've cut out an hour and a half of stuff and the movie would've still been just as good.

    Overall 3.2/5

  3. I liked it, only one shot that I really despised. Basically the "Messiah" shot of the blonde ruined the ending for me.

  4. some scenes did seem to be a bit long. overall, we enjoyed it.

  5. I liked it. My main concern in the movie was that they had guns but they would never end up killing anything with them. To my delight, I was wrong. I love when they actually use their hardware to effect.

Plus, the fact that there were dinosaurs made it all that much cooler.
