  2. i don't own one :( , but I've window shopped some in the past, and it seemed that Viewsonic has some pretty good LCD's and a good rep

    i could be wrong though....

  3. I have 2 one a samsung the other a mag innovision. I'm very pleased with each of them. They have very little if any (meaning I've not noticed it while playing fps or gta) ghosting. I have them for about 3-4 years now.

Yea I've had a Samsung 172x (17") LCD for a couple years now and she's served me well. I will check out the Samsung lineup

  5. Try checking out Tiger Direct, they have a bunch of good deals that come out from time to time on good 19" LCDs, some of them are even good for gaming with like 8-12 response time...

From all I have read about that particular monitor it is great for gaming with no noticable ghosting.

It's the same as Framerate - people work and work to get 200+ FPS in some game but in reality can the human eye even see that many FPS? It's the same with Response time. It seems most modern LCD's now are pretty good for gaming, obviously some better than others.

Still on the fence though about what to get. Open to first hand experience if anyone has some. :D

This is supposedly the fastest LCD out right now 2MS

  9. I have an older 2001FP and it works great in games. Just bought my brother one of dell's new 1905FPs for his graduation and he likes it.

Got a great review in MaxPC. Only downside they saw was the glossy screen. In the wrong environment it could cause some light reflection issues. For example, in their lab they noticed the flourescent lights in the monitor glaring off the screen. Also, they noticed some greyscale issues, but this is more for people who need exact color matching for work and such. Shouldn't be too much an issue for a gamer. 4ms response time is pretty damn good too.

Their gaming reviews on this monitor were good too. They say that the screen was free of any ghosting during fast-motion sequences.

yea I wanted to give a widescreen a shot but it appears most of them out there aren't all that great. Widescreen is just starting to catch on now. Also the Dell I found has color banding issues and there has been no response from Dell on a fix.

So I think in the end it looks like I am going to go with the Viewsonic 2ms - it seems to be the best bang for the buck right now in the LCD Gaming Arena.

That is about what I paid for my 27" Syntax about two years ago and it puts mine to shame. 1900x1200, me want! Man this thing is sweet, can do a 1600x1200 fullscreen window. Maybe in about a year this or something similar will be down in the $600 or less range.
