Speaking of LotR, I'm currently reading the 2nd book, The Two Towers and I'm a bit over half way through. Man I can't wait for the next two movies to come out.

Surprisingly though, for those of you who haven't read the books, the Fellowship book is quite different then the movie. One small example, the Fellowship movie doesn't actually end until the second chapter of the second book. Heh, and there is your odd little LotR factoid of the day.

Edit: Is that the gheyest picture they could find of Boromir, or what? The only thing gheyer would have been him buck-naked getting....ah, nevermind. We'll leave that one up to Gayzer. Hehe.

Despo, I have read the series a total of about 4 times and am on the second book for the 5th time! I own an old set my mom got me a long time ago that has the Hobbit along with the Lord of the Ring series.

The books are my favorites of all time as far as reading material.

One of my favorite characters is not even in the first movie while he is in the first book. He is a colorful character and has a beautiful wife who lives with him in the forest. His name?


Tom Bombadil. He is one of the interesting characters in the book.

Dane: Haha, yes that could just be taken as inventive beer bong or something as such!

Mani: Yes, ole Tom did not make it into the movie as well(even though it seemed to be a fairly major part of the book, it was quite a few pages long) as many other parts unfortunitely, but hey it was already 3 hours long as they had it so something had to go I guess.

After my Harry Potter affliction, I thought since I had such good look with seeing the movie/reading the books I would give the LotR series a shot also. So I went out and got the Hobbit and 3 Rings books and I am quite enjoying them as well.

I really liked the movie even though I saw it before reading the books but it is crazy how many little details, sequence of events, and other such characters and places are omitted or changed.

One such example being Arwyn's involvement in the first book/movie. The book being that she was in it for maybe 3 or 4 pages and did nothing other then speak to Aragorn if I remember right. In the movie she played the big part of getting Frodo to safety in Rivendell after his being stabbed by one of the Ringwraiths.

But hey, I bet the next two movies are going to be awesome. The second book has been pretty action packed and I wonder what liberties they will take with it in the theatre
