Not a fan of LOTR, didnt even see the second one. Doubt I'll see the third

  8. I am very excited about that last chapter. I think that it will be a great ending to one of the best trilogies ever made. I hope that the movie theater where I live by has the late night showings.

  9. In your immortal words Hamma,

Winter, agreed. I'm amazed Peter Jackson has done what he has with as little time has he been realistically allotted. It's astounding to think each book was 400+ pages and yet he managed to get as much of the story in there as he could in under 3 1/2 hours for each film.

As a die-hard Tolkein fan, I can honestly say they remained as faithful to the books as was humanly possible. I have completely enjoyed this series and will always be grateful that Jackson took up the challenge and did it.

  11. and to this thread i will also add...

    DORKS!!! ;)

  12. Personally I really enjoy the DVDs. As much as I enjoy the movies in the theatre, the extended versions really bring the story together and fill in the gaps that had to be left out for theatrical release. I really think they are great.

I can't wait to see Return of the King, but I won't be going tonight. I have to work in the morning, can't be up till 4am :p I'll probably go to a Saturday Matenee to avoid the gangs of people.

Hamma if you mildly enjoyed the first one, I would watch the second. The first one is a lot of story setup, the second one is more story but also some great action. The final movie is going to be all about blowing shit up :D

  13. Did you ever see Triumph at the Star Wars opening? Oh my god, I nearly wet myself. NERDS!!! :p

I didn't enjoy the first one at all, I didnt even make it the whole way through heh. I don't like the whole fantasy magic spell crap, not my type of movie. :\ One of the many reasons I hate RPG's - they always go down that path.
