man that must have hurt

    Taking Kennedy (my son) to his grandparents this morning. Found a old gal just picking herself up off the ground near the grandparents house. She had tripped on a slight (and I mean slight) rise in the concrete. Did a faceplant and drove her glasses into the bridge of her nose. :(
    My wife stopped the car and I got out. She was having trouble getting to
    her feet being 60+ and really stunned. So I helped her up and got a good look at the damage. Poor old gal was bleeding like a stuck pig from the bridge of her nose. The bruising was already starting despite the gash allowing blood to flow out. Probably broke her nose. After getting her some
    tissue to stanch the flow and sending her on her way (she refused any further help). I saw the bloody mess my jacket was in from helping her up. Her nose was really dripping blood quickly and I guess in the few moments it took to get her to her feet a lot landed on me. Hopefully it will come out. price you pay for being a good citizen :)
    We passed her again on the way to work, and she seemed to be doing fine. Crazy people out walking in the dark of early morning. Sleep like the rest of us lazy buggers!

    My university's sidewalks are like this, everywhere. Almost every slab is slightly higher or lower than the next, so walking around causes you to trip all the time. However, one of the more funny thing to do is sit on a bench next to the sidewalk and watch people taking campus tours and such who don't know about the sidewalks. As a group of 40 people walk by, so many of them stub their toes or trip and make a big hilarious scene.
