My Apartment just cuaght fire.

    And I can't stay here tonight because it smells like shit and it's giving me a headache.

    Here's how it all happened. I was sitting around complaning about my ping in IRC, and how I couldn't play anything online until I got it figured out. When all of a sudden I hear this *beep* *beep* *beep* and I'm thinking "wtf is that?" So I open the door to my room and the whole place is filled with smoke. So I ran out of my room and there are flames leaping across the celing out of the kitchen.

    I got down real low and ducked around the corner to make sure my Roommate wasn't in there on the floor or something. The coast was clear so I bolted out the door to the neighbors and told them to call 911.

    Guess who I found at the neighbors? it was my roommate. He had started frying some chicken and went over there and forgot about it!!!

    Well we called 911 but they said "Sorry, the fire department is busy and can't come right now" (<-- no shit, they really said that), But we scrounged up enough fire extinguishers to put the fire out. They got here, checked it all out and advised us not to stay here tonight.

    Here's a pic of my newly redecoreated kitchen. I'm glad the damage wasn't worce.

    god that suks glad you are OK ..the wife ses sue the fire deapartment and kick out the roum mate.and do you nead any stuf to reaplays burnd up stuf like blenders and sutch .we have a brand new set of kitchen knuves we can donate to you if you nead them(i notist the knife set looked a bit crispy in the pick but dont know if its the room mates or yors)..just ask and we will do wut we can bud good thinking and fast work ..be safe bud!!!!

    The only thing of mine that was lost in the fire was my George Forman Grill. Now I'll have no way to "Knock Out the Fat" :(

    It's really not that bad when you think about it......

    They will have to replace the whole kitchen, and paint the whole apartment, so I end up getting a brand new Oven, Stove, Microwave, and Paint. Even if we get kicked out and I have to move I'll still end up wih a new kitchen.

    Although it sux, it's still a win, win situation in a lot of ways.

    When I let the house that night I went by the neighbors and told them that since I figured they were all sitting around thinking "Well, that didn't work. What do you want to try next?" that'd I just leave before they killed me.
