My great Grandfather

  1. Curtis K. Risvold, My great grandfather, age 87

A few weeks ago my great grandfather's legs collapsed and was taken to the ER room and they discovered he had a blood clot in the right side of his brain and most likely would not live. We did not tell him for a few days in the hospital until a few hours before the operation. He cried, a long time. I came to see him shortly after he was told and I have known him VERY well for my whole life and seeing him in that condition was unbarable and all i could do was say "Hi" shake his hand and try to say "You will be alright" which i could not even get close to doing. He had a 10% chance of living and 0% chance of ever moving his left side again. He survived the operation and is currently in a nursing home. they told him 2 days ago that he would never be able to move his left side again. He has ALWAYS been a workoholic at our cabin and he loves to work, He began to cry again. The next day, he lifted his left leg and moved his left arm freely. He was a navy officer in WW2 and is the most determined and stubborn man i have EVER met.
