Need help with Outlook/Exchange problem

Discussion in 'General Open/Public Discussion' started by FaithStrike, 18 Jul 2005.

  1. This is for any of you gurus out there. I am having a problem with one of my users not being able to login to exchange 2000 using Outlook 2002. When you open outlook it pops up a box asking for login information. I can login fine using OWA or using her login credentials on another system. Also I can logon to her computer as any other user and setup outlook and login just fine.

I am using Outlook as an exchange client not a pop client. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Faithstrike

  2. Control panel --> Mail --> Email Accounts --> Next --> Change --> More Settings --> Security Tab --> Uncheck the Always prompt for user name and password option.

  3. The problem is that even with the correct credentials it will not let me login. Also by default with an exchange client it is unchecked anyways. This problem occurred after my exchange services had stopped running due to a full HD. After cleaning out my BadMail folder and restarting this problem occurred. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Office with no luck.

    Thanks.

  4. Delete her profile in Outlook and re-create it.

  5. how long does it take to propagate the log-in information? shouldn't take that long should it?

just curious, i don't know about that stuffs. all i know is that when my account was setup at my unit, i had to wait forever it seemed like before i could use my log-in info. 'course, had to wait for the security clearance as well....yay, that's always fun. not.

  6. I deleted and recreated a profile for her and it still won't work. As for the time it takes to login, it's instant. The way Outlook works when setup as an exchange client is it passes the network login when you run outlook, that is the account name for the mailbox you are opening. Problem is when her outlook starts it pops up a box asking me to login and no matter what I put in there it says the login information is incorrect. I can use the sae login information to login in via Outlook Web Access or I can go to another computer and lgin as her and create the profil in Outlook and it works fine.

I'm at my wits end...of course it didn't take long to get there.

  7. Remove the computer from the domain and rejoin it.
