Need some artistic help

  1. OK, I know you folks have a lot of talent with Photoshop
What I have been trying to do is edit this picture so that it stays the same, except that I need one with black armor, and one with blue armor. I'm gonna use em as wallpaper for my black red & blue computers, respectively...

Now, you can see that I have tried, and basically managed to 'dye' the whole picture the color I wanted,

but it looses a LOT of the picture detail. And I am not sure by what means or method to get just the armor only the color I want, without loosing the detail that already exists on the pic....
    Help!

  2. when u set things to wallpaper, the best pictures are the pictures that are fit for wallpaper. I know when i try to do wallpaper, i sometimes try to rightclick set to wallpaper kind of thing but it looses a lot of detail too. If you got the picture small, and set it to wallpaper, im not sure how your going to fix that cause all you do is expand the coloring which makes it blurry. (Thats why i referred to Eyetide Viewer). I'm not sure, maybe it can be fixed. Im not the most computer litterate person out there. But from past experiences, setting small pictures to wallpaper that I got off of a website or whatever always seemed to not turn out as good as if i set a larger picture to wallpaper. VVD, i'm trying to help, don't know how far i got. But gl.:p
