Needing a new Monitor

Discussion in 'General Open/Public Discussion' started by Aeternus, 12 Aug 2007.

  1. I'm looking a buying an LCD monitor to replace my 17" crt that is killing my eyes.
I've looked around a few places but haven't made a decision yet. I'd like it to be 20"+ and it would need to be $200 or less. I'd like to do widescreen, but anything else wouldn't be a deal breaker, ie. i don't care about having usb ports or speakers or anything else extra.

Anyone have any suggestions, either on specific models or brands?

edit: oh...it'd need to have a good response time of course for gaming and a nice contrast ratio is preferable as well

BenQ are actually pretty good too, for the price..

    20" BenQ widescreen under $200

I've got a couple of Samsung's and a BenQ as my main monitor and I've never had a problem with it..

  5. BenQ and Viewsonic are the two manufacturers I'd go with. Also, as was mentioned, don't forget the DVI cable, sorta hit and miss I would think.

  6. thanks for the suggestions & advice gents...unfortunately i had a run in with the automobile gremlins today...car's in the shop and the bill will probably prohibit any 'fun' purchases....we'll see tomorrow though
