We all get to choose the hangar that we want if I understood the stream at all correct. Hangars will also be limited to areas based on in game lore, IE no deluxe hangar on shitty colony moon. So we might want to all choose the same type/style/location to get our starting hangars so that all of CDL can start with in a smaller geographical location of each other.

TL;dr: Do not use your hangar choice as of yet until we can figure out the best solution to keeping us all together.

  2. I doubt even if we all choose the same hangers we would end up in the same area. Doesn't make sense that all the Deluxe hangers for instances would be located in one system.

But if I get a pick I am picking the Asteroid.

Also I imagine all types of hangers will be present in the starter zones where we all get started at.

  3. Yeah, I'd go for Asteroid as well. Able to hold multi-crew ships, comes with my Caterpillar, and looks badass.

They all hold all the same size ships, you will be able to choose your start location later, nothing is an official statement or anything.

If we all decide to be in a edge of space type location, having a high class hangar will not let you start there. Every one that has a hangar will be able to choose whichever one they want when they do the release for them. My purpose of making this post was that people just take a second and think about it before they just choose one. You would either have to buy the other one for real money, which sucks or you would be far away from everyone and always have to travel and stuff.

Who knows it might not matter at all, but then again it might.

  5. I agree, just throwing in my two cents. I'd take a shorter commute with deluxe hangar than a long one with the Asteroid.

  6. i too agree with ole zibber here. something we might need to take into consideration

  7. Aside from locations, the Deluxe Hangar does look less graphically intensive than just a long, empty space.

I am actually drawn to either the business or astroid as far as looks. Deluxe and base are kind of meh

  9. I don't think the starting zone will make much of a difference. There will be an organization hangar, so that location will be important.

I think this should be a Divisional Officer discussion at first and the team will do whatever decision is made by them. There's apparent advantages and disadvantages to choices but if we all go the " I " way... it's not a team then.

  11. It is possible none of the current hangar choices will be suitable; after all, there have been plans for Organisations and, as I understand it, Foundry42 has started a little bit of that for the mining outpost in SQ42.

  12. True but a lot of people have spent good money on this game and it isn't really our right to dictate to them. If a player really doesn't want one type of hanger he is not going to use it even if we mandate it. But this is a discussion best left for when we know more. Also your hanger is essentially your house in this game as well.

I think it is fair to let people do what they want with their personal hangers, all we can do is inform them at let them make the right call. At the end of the day the corp hanger is all that matters.

  13. Starting zones will make no difference as there are no levels in the game. You can have multiple hangars as well, and can have things shipped between them.

i think we all, and you need to calm down a bit. The whole point of this post was to get people to wait because we get one free choice, that is it. Everything else is speculation and opinions. I think we are over thinking the fuck out of this and I regret making the post seeing how feisty shit has got since i did.

Zib; There should be no regrets in making your original post. I agree to best hold off on any hanger location decision until more information is available as you originally said. My comment was more in line to suggest that the Divisional leadership to consider all possibilities and make any recommendations that would be advantageous to both individuals and the team as a whole when the time comes. Nothing more, nothing less.

  16. it's all good granite, and you are right. I think this is also just a little to do with excitement of a game alot of us are waiting for and we are starting to see more pieces of it coming together. It is exciting times for SC

I'm not picky. Once everything gets laid out, I'll be happy to grab whatever hangar is best in terms of centralized location for teamwork. Also, I'm super tempted to pick up a Connie variant. Thankfully, I'm not interested in the Phoenix, so it can wait.
