NOS? Should Dragon crossover......

Discussion in 'General Open/Public Discussion' started by Dragon, 4 Nov 2001.

  1. Well, I think I might be shifting my evening fun from Tribes2 to Street Racing....

I might go with 2 NOS canisters or just stick to one.
Either way, my friends in O town and Contacts do street racing and since I have a 1999 Eclipse GT Turbo, my friends going to help me upgrade it free.

He drives a Honda SI my other contact drives a Acura and the other one of my friends/contacts drives an Eclipse also.
Theres a major street club we all belong too and they been dying to get me to join and race.

$1000 a run- 4 cars from each catagory and winner take all each weekend. This would be a cool way to earn an extra Thousand a week.

BTW: I already have a $500,000 life insurance policy out and Im naming Scrub my beneficiary :).....not :)

    What do you think....

  3. unless you know how to use NOS, I Strongly recommend you hold off using it.

NOS can be EXTREMELY deadly if not used correctly. If you do want NOS, make sure it's professionally installed by a shop that has MANY years of experience, and don't let some acne-faced kid do it. Let a true mechanic do it.

NOS can kill you Dragon. So can street racing.

On a lighter side... nice car.

BTW, think about what would happen to little Johnathon if you splattered your body across the road, and the only way the cops can identify you is by DNA sampling a puddle of blood on your last 'race'. Think about what your ex would have to say to Johnathon when he grows up and asks "What happened to Dad?"

What would happen if you blew the engine in your car because you were too hard on it?

    *shrugs*

    Weigh the pros/cons dragon.

I know you'll make the right decision

  4. hmm...well personally I would much rather play T2 than put my life at risk racing...especially if I had a kid...I think you should stick with T2 man :)

Small block chevy, roller cam, little tweaking and that's all you need! Doomhawk rulz!! heh heh heh

I see so many of these little honda's and stuff around my area. Put a NOS bottle on and everyone thinks they are racers. They fail to remember to stiffen the suspension (not just with struts and sways but ALL of the pieces) What about the roll cage? 5 way harness? Fuel Cell? More to racing than just a can of gas.

How many of these small cars are running manuals with no blow proof bell housings? All? A flywheel spinning at 8 grand and coming apart will cut through the car like a hot knife through butter. Possibly killing you and anyone else in a 100 meter range.

Mani will tell you, I am no n00b when it comes to street racing (a lot in the past) and the more I raced the more fearfull I became (is that guy next to me running his car in the same shape I am? Does he have the safety equipment I do?) Probably not. Nothing cooler than a low ride or a hyped out Ford or a supercharged Mopar on a Friday night. Lope the cam through a parking lot, that is impressive. Open the hood to a tricked out engine, that is impressive, running your car all out on a street that I and my kids may be on, no way.

Just my comments, Dragon. Get a cool ride, trick it out, show it off. Racing it will get you nothing but a lot of hassle. Running my 67' vette with it's tricked out motor cost me lots of money and time. Now I will take a nice motor, a nice ride knowing I can haul if I need to but having the knowledge that I don't have to, to impress someone.
