Ok, well just notes really. CDL made a 10 man run thru UBRS yesterday with a friend of Maulers along for the ride. First of all, It was a good run. Few deaths till the end and not a one wipe. Very encouraging for our 2nd guild attempt at that run. With a little more practice that will be an easy run for us to accomplish. I love the feeling of going into there with my brothers and sisters at my side to ruin the Blackrock Clans day.

A couple things I wanted to touch on that I saw in there...

Firstly, I was leading the raid and I failed in a few things, mostly from an assumption that We would all be on the same page with little effort with us all being Dragonwolves and all. Not the case and nor should it be at this point (in some cases). We've just begun running things as a guild beyond the 5 man content. I've run with some of you extensively and we know how we like to do loot and pace ourselves. Others I am not used to running the bigger things with. You may be used to running with Hunters that do things very differently than I do (if they even pull at all). We have plenty of growing to do as a guild and this was shown last night. Now that the excuses are out of the way...

Patience is a virtue we failed to excercise at times during the run. At times, it was the pacing of the run that seemed to be a problem. I realize that one of our members was short on time and maybe that's all that it was. It is up to the raid leader, or the person doing the pulls if they are not the raid leader (or a combination of those people) to determine the pacing. While I realize no one wants to take forever to run an instance, building the teamwork needed to run the 20 man content takes commitment. UBRS is a good place to start that. These runs are setting the foundation for how we, as a team will perform when the time comes. This kind of thing has to be built and I beg your patience with me or other raid leaders during the learning process.

Honor...Valor..Victory... Those are the words that you see when you come to our site. Respect for eachother is a fundemental part of the foundation of this guild and to those three words that mean so much. I noticed a few things that concerned me when patience with eachother was needed. I also failed in this as well. When someone declares that an item is an upgrade they are entitled to roll for it. If it's class appropriate and the class in question doesn't need it then others are free to make use of said item. These things will be better served in someones hands then in the bank as a shard. DE'ing is the last option to utilize loot rather than let it become "vendor trash." I should have stepped in and stopped this as soon as it started to happen and stood up for that person's right to have it and I didn't. As raid leader it was my place to do so. If it was a pug I would have without a second thought but found myself wanting to placate the others at the expense of the one. That won't happen again.

I don't want to become one of those guilds that won't let someone roll on something because it doesn't fit with my idea of what they should use. Of course common sense does play a part here and everyone knows the obvious exceptions to this rule. It it's questionable, who cares if they use that item that no one else wanted? I don't. Loot will come. And it will come much faster for a team dedicated to eachother.

Additionally, all raid members should stay in the chat channel for that raid at all times. This is my opinion on this. If you need to leave it then make an announcement that you are leaving the channel please. TS is mandatory for these things and it's utlization is important to our sucess in these ventures.

I want to see us grow as a guild together thru things like this. I know it's only a matter of time, and all these things will not be an issue with a little familiarity and growth. Most of the things were little, insignificant when looked at against the big picture. But little things to one can be a big thing to others and I don't want to let things lie. Will we have disagreements over loot, pacing, or things of that nature? Of course we will. Can we handle it like a family and let the little things slide, I believe that we can. Any family takes work to suceed.

Hopefully, I haven't offended anyone with this. If you have an issue with something above or something I didn't address please come see me.

    Thank you all.

  2. couple of observations from a rogue

I thought the run went VERY well. Everyone played their parts and we handled adds and the very few accidential pulls perfectly.

One thing I want to suggest is being/starting on time. If the raid is supposed to start at 8pm, please be at or very near the instance with all the things you need for the run: pots, bandages, scrolls, etc BEFORE then. If we need to meet at Kargath to fend off Allies along the way, then be there at ther designated starting time READY to go.

Most of us have family and time responsibilities in varying degrees. For myself, starting the raid on time will be a HUGE plus.

As for the rest, the more we play together the better we, as a guild, are going to get. That's how this ugly ol' rogue sees things:)
