   Hey guys... does anyone know if OpenOffice.org is any good? I didn't want to pay a ton of money to get the Windows Office suite, so I figured I'd go to something like openoffice. Anyone want to weigh in? Is there something better?

   OpenOffice has its quirks but over all if you are looking for a free office suite its the best. Otherwise for around a 100 you can get Corel WordPerfect Office.

   You can save in MS office format as well from those apps. We suggest students download openoffice if they are doing projects at home and school.

   Honestly, there's very little to differentiate one office suite from another anymore. OpenOffice works very well, and in my opinion, has a bit better support for external filetypes than most of the commercial packages do.
