So what's the story behind this game? (I don't want to do my own research)

Is it another shooter?

 

It's another first person shooter, but this one is diffrent in that it's one of those MMOLRPG games like Everquest or DAoC. The diffrence is that in this one you get out of the dungeon, and into the future.

So the more you play, the better the stuff you can get.

There are 3 Empires fighting over control of Massive continents (they measure 8x8 km). There is no CTF, or other style of game play. It's just war. You fight to take ground from the other empires, and they fight to take it back.

It's gonna be a good one.

it should be interesting NO BOTS whitch means exept for the geeks that never sleap things are guna go back and forth alot say one side arenges a bunch of peeps to be on at 2 am thare will be practikly no one to stop them but sins thay all stade up late the others will take it all back the next morning .looks kinda cool to me

 

okay...so just how much is this gonna set me back?

 

probaly 50 or 60 buks but you will have to pay a monthly fee of like 10 to 20 buks deapending on how far in advans you want to pay them if you pay by the yere its cheeper than by the month.the payments are to go to site mantanes,patchis and new stuf thay will throw in just to keep you happy.

 

They should toss the game on the shelf for $15 bucks, being a service is where the cash is.

I would be more opted to play online if I got the game free then paid the $10 a month (if you think about it, thats $120 a year plus the $50 up front fee)

The way I look a it, and I know some others will agree, is that the pay to play model is a little better then the way things work now. Having paid out of pocket for T2 servers that cost me as much per month as PS will cost per year I see it as a way to spread the burden around. That and you don't have to worry about getting the new maps, patching your server, and any of the other BS that goes along with running a server.

I like the idea of no servers to maintain or scheduling, just think they should pop the stuff on the shelf for a few bucks less than a full game (you can't play it stand alone so to use it requires the connection fee) What would be good in that case would be a purchase price of $50 bucks which $30 of it goes towards your monthly cost (basicly first 3 months free)

I know it won't but would be better!

Most of these pay to play games do include a free month of service with the game. I'm sure pricing will be done in the same way that EQ has been done seeing how it's the same developers/publisher.

I'm pretty sure DAoC comes with a first month free, and then there's Anarchy Online which you can DL, and play for free for the first 30 days. Then again AO sucked so it's no wonder they are giving it away for free.

 

Pay to Play games can limit the players though. A lot of people don't want to fork out $50 and then pay $10 a month.

You're gonna sit down with a bunch of buddies and play this game for a few hours and take an area. Then the next day when you and your friends start playing again everything you've fought and took was lost while you were sleeping. Constant defend and destroy with no real winner? Where's the gratifacation? When I play CS sometimes I am the last on my team alive. So my team observes me while I play. It's the most incredible feeling knowing your team is watching you beat the other team. It's like grabbin the final flag, taking it back to the base, and winning the game for your team. That intense feeling of total victory and everyone is cheering for you because you did it. You broke the enemies defence and won the game. I love that shit and I just don't see it happening in this game. I mean yeah taken the base would be an awsome feeling but you're just going to lose it tommorrow. A constant struggle with no real winner.

I'm just too competative for that. There are players who play to have fun and there are players who play to win. While I love the Clan feeling I mainly play the game to win. It' just that competative human desire to be better than everyone else. Like I said... I like to have fun but I play to win.
