Police Foundations course. :D (first day at college. :o)

    Awesome stuff. :)

    I went for my orientation/testing today to see if I could be exempted from my physical portion of my schooling, and my computing portion, and well...

    ...I'M EXEMPTED! vgw!

    Physical testing:

    Obstacle course
    Running, Jump over wall twice, go over stairs twice, use push/pull machine (65lb force) for a total of 12 arcs(6 push, 6 pull), handcuff machine (35lb force handles, 50lb force resistance), then dummy carry total of 14m (150lb dummy).
    Required time to be a cop: 2 minutes, 46 seconds
    Required time to be exempted from the course: 2 minutes, 36 seconds
    My recorded time: 2 minutes 14 seconds

    Shuttle Run
    Running in 20 meter intervals, trying to beat the beep.
    Requirement to be a cop: 6.5 on the shuttle run
    Requirement to be exempted from the course: 7.5
    My recorded score: 7.5
    The teacher wouldn't let us go past 7.5 because she was in a hurry.


    Also, I was exempted from my computer course, but that's neither here, nor there.

    Do you get to ride a horse wehn you become a mounty? I don't think I want people shooting at you. Could you maybe get a desk job?

    congrats asmo....i think what you are pursuing is very noble...and going to be very rewarding....you will make quite a dashing young enforcer of the law...just don't be a dick ;)

    Actually, I don't think I can be a mounty... I need to be fully bilingual, and I'm a very strong anglophone (english only).. I know a little french, but not a lot... probably going to go into work with the local units around here, either in Cornwall, or Ottawa. Not sure yet.

    I know when I required the laws help, they where there in a flash and I and my family where gratefull.

    Stressful job with little thanks. So I will Thank you now!!!!

    We, the little people your sworn to protect, sometimes forget why your there, but we do appreciate it.
