Poor use of admin rights

Discussion in 'General Open/Public Discussion' started by {VOD}Clark, 21 Nov 2005.

  1. I Joined your BF2 server earlier tonight for the first time, and unfortunately probably the last time.

I was playing on the Gulf of Oman map and was kicked for TK'ing.

I agree with kicking people who TK. I hate when it happens to me, especially when it is obvious it was not an accident. I will also say that I did TK one person about three times on purpose.

However, their is an excellent reason for killing the person I did. The guy (Popecorpsemolester) yes that was the name he was playing under. The name says alot about the person to begin with. However I did not kill him until after he had already made about 6 or 7 bombing runs over the carrier tk'ing myslef and numerous other people in the process. After he had killed me with bombs a few times and tried to kill me with the blackhawk several other times, and planted C4 on the runway and waited for you to fly over and re-arm so he could blow people up I started shooting his plane down any time he started bombing the carrier.

I was then kicked for teamkilling by an admin, and the pope guy was left to play in the server. And no he wasnot also kicked because I checked back numerous times and still saw him in there playing.

Why someone chose to kick me is beyond my comprehension.

  2. I doubt someone would have kicked you. Was there someone on the server with the -CDL- tag? This could be a mix of the TK auto-kick and the enemy-but-not-really-an-enemy bug... the one where you see someone as an enemy or friendly and they see it the same way or however it works. I'm not sure how he didn't get himself kicked by the auto-kick as well though.

  3. Yes. I do believe a Clan member was present, and no I dont believe it was an auto kick, or an accident because I was showing up the wrong color.
When the map first starts and you run and hop in a jet, and he immediatley places C4 on it and blows you up it is not an accident. This happened in the first ten seconds of the map and continued from that point.

So be the bigger person and don't TK. God I hate it when people come in here complaining about being TK'd, going back and TKing the perp, then accusing one of our server admins of "Poor use of Admin Rights." You wanna bitch and complain? Pop over to ea.com and bitch at them for putting in a piss poor TK string. I used to play BF2 and I can tell you that those -CDL- who both play and have admin rights on OUR server don't abuse that priviledge. Until you bring solid proof STFU.

    Thanks

  5. Until I bring proof STFU.

That is not the response that I would have expected, but maybe I should have.
I posted in here not to bitch at the whoever did kick me, and was not intending to make a big deal about it. I simply believe that if someone is mis-using the admin rights that the rest of the people in the group should know about it.
I told you what happened, what map it happened on, what day, and what time of day. If you want proof of what happened you can go look it up yourself. It is your server.
If you would rather duck your head in the sand that is fine by me.

  6. Myself and one other member was playing on that map last night and I know for a fact that neither of us kicked you for tk'ing. I'm sorry you got kicked but it had to have be because of the auto-kick. Why the other guy was not kicked also I have no idea. But please do not blame us. We DO NOT abuse our power! We play with honor as should you. If someone is play dishonorably let us know and we can deal with them appropriately.

    Did you?
What did you expect? We have tons of people who come here to complain about being kicked for TK'ing when they themselves admit in their own post they do it. I don't understand what we are supposed to post in response to that.
We closely monitor who has admin rights and I can confidently assure you we don't have people who kick on a whim. Most Dragon Wolves are too busy killing the enemy to worry about the llamas who creep in unless specifically pointed to by repeated dumb acts.
Typically the one who brings the charges carries the burden of proof. It is YOU who has to prove your charges, not us who are burdened with proving/refuting YOUR charges.
This cliche has to do with attempting to ignore or avoid a problem or issue. It is based upon the supposed actions of an ostrich who is in actuality just lowering his head in response to an attack by predators.

We are not ostriches, we are Dragon Wolves and we tend to face any problem or predator with tenacity and honor. We do not duck our heads, we answer charges with a demand of challenges of proof and for conduct that leaves the accuser free to charge without similar blemishes on his record. You sir, have not met either, thus your charges are considered frivolous.

  8. Personally, I strip and submit myself in these situations.. it's the safest thing to do.

  10. Well I was on with Panthera and one other CDL player and had seen a few times of TKing but nothing that was exessive. If anything I was getting Tk'd but only because of being in the wrong place and the right time. I often find it funny that if someone TK's that the answer that most give is to return friendly fire and not ignore the TKer and report it to a Hosting clan member and then go on playing. Usually what works for me is after death I respawn to another point. And have found that if others do the same the Child that is trying to gain attention usually stops or goes to another server. Either way it is a choice to be on a server or not..

  11. poor use of admin rights:
    1) kicking so I can have the chopper not you
    2) kicking you cause you accidentally tk'ed me once.
    3) any other stupid reason like the above scenario

    Proper use of admin rights:
    1) Kicking consistant tk'ers
    2) kicking people who do not play with honor and respect

You see, you got booted for tk'ing whether or not it was auto-kick or adminkick. You did not follow proper procedures for getting a person kicked for tk'ing. Talk with the CDL member on to get the person kicked.

Take a look at this scenario:

You get tk'ed by 1 person over and over again. Instead of talking with people on the server to get it resolved, you decide to kill him a few times. Right before this happens, a CDL member with admin rights logs in and sees the following:

    {VOD}Clark [Teamkills] Popecorpsemolester
    {VOD}Clark [Teamkills] Popecorpsemolester
    {VOD}Clark [Teamkills] Popecorpsemolester

He in turn pulls admin and kicks you. Is this miss-understood, yes. Is it abuse, no certainly not. If you want to deal with a TK'er either leave for a bit or ask current members to do something about it. The point is, there are any number of reasons why you could have gotten kicked, all of them legit because you were tk'ing intentionally no matter the reason.

  12. Atleast most of the posts here have not got on the attack.

Like I said, I did TK.

It is possible an admin on the other team only saw (Clark teamkills) come across the screen and was unaware it was because a teammember kept flying over our base and dropping bombs on top of us. When someone continually does this like last night my response will always be the same.
It is the point of the game to live long enough to kill the guy on the other team. If the only way it is possible to live more than a few seconds is to shoot down a jet flown by someone trying to kill myself and others I will do it. No matter if it is flown by a teammate or not.
Maybe some dont agree with that philosophy, but we must agree to disagree.
I did complain about being tk'd, especially when the person doing so had a -17 score.

No matter. I said what I came to say, and you have said what you wanted in response. Some of the responses were positive, and some were typical of someone who automatically goes on the defensive rather than taking an objective look.

Hope ya all have a good time, and maybe I will stop in again.

  13. First off I'd recommend not telling someone who runs the server to "STFU" - if you're trying to plead your case, wrong or right that's the farthest direction you want to head in from right. Now stating your case and getting argumentetive might be called for but slinging immature phrases/abbreviations is way uncalled for. I don't play BF2 but I've been with this group for 2 years and I know for a fact you don't come to one of us and tell us what to do - you ask or request. Being polite and civil even if wronged is still the one method that will get you farther along resolving an issue.

  14. I didn't tell anyone to STFU.
If you read the post by Sentrosi it is what he told me.

sorry if you read it that way.

  15. .. actually he was being polite and civil.. he just didn't put the Quote tags around what sentrosi said. =P

  16. Whether it was directed at Sent or anyone else the "Until I bring proof STFU" seems a bit opposite of that. That's my interpretation so take it for what it's worth.

  17. No no, reign... sent is the one that said STFU... he was quoting sent's post and responding to it.

  18. Bleh what's with this serious side Cyrus?

    BACK IN THE CAGE!

  19. Cyrus... is ... omg ...

i think that .... he just might be

    *sniff*

growing up on us ..... perhaps this is a glimpse into the young man of society that he is slated to become .... omg... he is going to be responsible and upstanding .... i am not sure i can take this!!!! :) :)

  20. Did my post cause the unwanted maturing of one of your members?

If so I deeply apologize, because if we all grew up and became mature at the same time none of us would play vidoe games.

    :) just kidding.

It is nice to see that some people dont see every "negative" post as an attack. It reminds many of us that the reason we play these games is for fun, and much of the fun we gain is from killing our friends we have met online.
