    My husband has been out of town this week so I took the garbage out the other night.

    It was a dark, cold, rainy night but a quick trip to the garbage can didn't warrant me going to the trouble of putting on a jacket, I thought to myself. I took the overfull bag of garbage out of the kitchen trash can and went out the front door with my guard poodle along side of me.

    I found my way to the garbage can on the side of our house to discover the garbage man had left the lid off and it was now full of water so I set my bag of garbage down and it quickly spilled over onto the ground. I picked up the garbage can and dumped out the water and with it went some paper and garbage that had been in the bottom of the can....and I don't need to describe the smell.

    I can barely see so I'm freezing in the cold rain grabbing this garbage, trying to get it back in the can, while holding up the garbage bag that dumped over, fighting off my guard poodle because he thinks this is a delicous feast I have set before him, and then I go for the final piece of paper on the ground....wet soggy noodles. I stuck my hand in a pile of rotten, wet noodles.

    I hope I can erase this experience from my memory.

    I thought, by the name of the thread, someone took a picture of you.

    Waht's worse, is when the barrel is half full of water and it freezes. So you have a trash barrel half full of ice. not fun.

    Tie the garbage bag. That way nothing leaks out.

    Wow you have to watch both your children nonstop till your husband comes home huh? That must be nerve wrecking. Oh well you are a mother you can handle it. Sorry the trash scared your for life. :(


    You should have had Dane help you but he'd probably just eat the trash with that vicious attack poodle.

    spilling trash sucks in general, but i gotta say, that is one of the nastiest scenarios i can think of. The poodle just kind of topped it off though :).
