    For those who like to rock, I mean really ROCK!
    I recommend Guitar Hero for PS2.

    Cyrus has it.
    I have it.
    Capt Mediocre has it.

    Would someone who really plays guitar enjoy this one? It sounds like a lot of fun from the reviews and from your recommendation.

    I'm tempted but my husband plays and my daughter is interested in learning guitar and I'd hate to get this and develop bad habits that will be difficult to shake for my daughter when she's ready for rea lessons. What are your thoughts?

    I haven't played the game, but I've played guitar for most of my life. A quick bit of googling came up with enough of a description of the guitar-shaped game controller to see that it doesn't have much in common with the actual instrument. The worst that I could see happening is that your daughter could get used to holding the instrument incorrectly (if you're right handed, the guitar is supposed to rest on your left knee when sitting, and vice versa, but the opposite often feels more natural, so people start doing it that way). I did this when I was self-taught, and it only took me a couple of days to adjust to the correct stance when I started formal instruction.

    I can't imagine this would be a problem, but since I haven't played the game, you may want to seek a more informed opinion than mine. ;)

    Actually, my bud that bought the game with me has played guitar for awhile now and he thinks that it's close. But it's not suppossed to be realistic, its for fun. :)

    Actually, I have quite a few friends here that have the game and they love it. One has the arcade Guitar Freaks (which was highly rated) and they prefer the PS2 Guitar Hero game. PLUS...most of these guys are in bands.

    I would recommend it, or at the very least, head out to your nearest Best Buy and check it out on the PS2 endcap in the video game section. I love the game and would recommend it to everyone, especially since an expansion pack is already in the works.
