  1. Very nice. I've been trying to think of what sort of control setup would work best with SC. I'm thinking maybe even a two-joystick setup.

  2. The only two-joystick setup (if you can call them that) I know of is the Razer Hydra, though I don't think that would suit you unless you have PS Move:

I'd think you also have to decide whether you want the X52, or the X52 Pro [link]

Ordered one. Not that it's entirely useful to me now.

  4. Chris Roberts plays with an xbox gamepad.

  5. I have one of these in my basement. Maybe I should try to make it work?

  6. Star Citizen will support multiple joysticks, see here.

I have one of those too. :D

The problem is, of course, Windows and drivers. There are both 32-bit and 64-bit driver versions... but they aren't signed by Microsoft. So that means you have to turn "TESTSIGNING" on in Windows (which the VJoy installation will do automatically). While I don't think there are any unintended side effects, this is Microsoft we're talking about. :p

So... Digging out my old Logitech 3D Extreme won't be capable enough? ;)

Saitek X52 is kinda pricey here... and difficult to find!

  8. It's hard to help without knowing where you are and what stores are in your part of the country. I do know I've wanted an x52 for as long as I can remember, but they sell so much that the price has remained the same for well over a decade :(

  9. I got mine off ebay for $60'ish, supposedly barely used which is not surprising since I've yet to use them in a game once. The main drawback on the Saitek's is they use springs to go back to center which can wear down supposedly after a year of usage. Mine still have plenty of spring but no where near the tension you get from something like the Warthog.

  10. That's not a bad idea - some retailers use online sales through eBay, so it shouldn't be too hard to find people selling units of the X52...

Just be sure to filter for experienced sellers and brand new items.

  11. Great minds think alike. I've recommended it previously. It's what I own now. :D

  12. I still use my old microsoft precision 2 sidewinder from when I use to play Mech Warrior 3. Thats dating myself, might be time to upgrade

Can't wait to use my mouse and keyboard when the game comes out. Tribes flying ftw! :p

  14. Hamma's flying? Aahhhh we're all gonna die! :p

Though, to be fair, I could never pilot a Shrike myself either.

  15. I woner if they'll allow support for 360 for Windows controllers...

In hindsight, I have found an x52 Pro for just over £100, just in case they don't.
