Not yet but I know you can sell space on your car now :D

  6. That is rather...yeah.

Here's the thing though, who takes time to look at butterflies anymore?

    Good point.

  8. First of all, it's obvously just a creative college project for a class, not some nefarious plot to harm animals. Just read some of the stuff on the website, it's really quite amusing.

It's called Hubris Inc., if that doesn't give away the joke I don't know what will.

But back to reality, Mani I'm not sure if you can sell space on your kids, but you can sell space on yourself.

Yeah, you're right, Rayzer! I was just googling images of emerging butterflies and saw that one with the coke logo on it and uh...I need coffee.

Just temporary tatoo for charity is kind of disturbing. I'm more inclined to laugh it off because it's for a good cause but it makes a sad statement as well. Whatever happened to our world? Cant we have more people making charitable contributions without exploiting it for marketing?

  11. Not all of them are temporary :p

    sad, sad, sad. <3

Do you think some day we'll decline enough to revisit Roman Gladiator-like entertainment for the sake of selling tickets to a show, generating enough advertising hype and notoriety to wake us up after we've become numb to everything that shocks us now?

true! Good comparison. There's blood and bruises but they don't die at the end...yet. :|

  15. I dunno about gladiators but I'm having a couple friends over on Saturday night to watch:

I'm really looking forward to the Rich Franklin Vs. David Loiseau and Georges St. Pierre Vs. BJ Penn fights. Even though St. Pierre is canadian, I'm rooting for him. That guy is one hell of a fighter.

Rich Franklin is just insane, no clue why anyone would want to get into the ring with him, there's pretty much a 95% chance you're going to get the shit beat out of you. Considering he's had KOs or doctor stoppages on Evan Tanner (twice), Ken Shamrock, and Nate Quarry, the man is just a beast. Nice guy too....unless of course he's punching you in the face.

Don't think anyone's ever gotten killed in the UFC, but I know someone who got his arm broken. That was so nasty, but oh so cool at the same time!

I wasn't all that excited about this PPV, but it's looking pretty sweet at this point!~

    :rawr:

  16. We were talking about this sort of thing at work the other day...we have no sense of propriety any more...nothing that we won't do for either shock and awe...or simply because we think its our "right" to...rome fell...ate itself from the inside out...it was a big wonderful, glorious nation for the time that it was around...but all its technology, intelligence, and armies could not keep it from crashing down...looking at the state of affairs of the country now...im thinking that we are pretty much on the same path...our age as a nation...is about equivelant to a spoiled 9 year old when compared to some of other nations in the world...

  17. At the same time, we are fortunate enough to be able to think about such things, talk about them at work, login into some random web board and talk about them. We could, instead, be worrying about where our next meal is coming from.

History is often glorified. Make no doubt that Rome was an impressive civilization, so was Egypt. But Rome was built on decades of war and slaughter. It didn't grow because of its splendid culture, leadership, and orgies. It grew because it had the most formitable military the world had ever seen. Egypt was built with blood of hundreds of thousands of slaves. Everything has it's dark side.

I'm not wanting to get too political here, but I think problems like people tatooing GoldenPlace on their chests are minor to the new generation of terrorists we are nurturing in Iraq. Our days as liberators past years ago, now we're, for the most part, a hated occupying force in a country on the brink of a civil war. That's a problem that will affect my children. If thier biggest problem is kids running around with advertisments tatooed on their foreheads, I'll be thankful.

  18. On a side note, I find it very interesting that a civilized society like the Roman Empire could openly accept homosexuality. In fact, it seems they found it perfectly normal. Yet you fast forward a few thousand years, and it's one of the most demonized sins in our culture. What happened? Monotheism, imo.

Well I've hit up the Iraq war and homosexuality. I think that's enough sensative areas for now.
