There comes a time in the life of any Team where they see the edge of darkness creep ever closer to them. The Team sees the tides of the enemy wash closer and closer to Home and see the inevitable slide into darkness begin.

It is at these defining moments that a Team decides who they are. They have experienced crushing, withering defeat. They have felt the blows of humiliation hammered upon them from foes who respect them not. Words or gestures that break the heart and spirit of that Team and cause an internal bleeding of the spirit that often times leads to a slow and agonizing Team death. It is upon this razor's edge, balanced between dropping into the chaos of meaninglessness or remaining in the ceaseless, blistering light of self-condemnation and outside ridicule that the Team defines who they REALLY are.

The darkness is easy to give into; "Release us into the chasm of a devotionless, less demanding, non-threatening world where we can be safe and warm!" It taunts us with these false sympathies and hollow promises of an easier road. But at what price does the Team shed the storm of the razor's edge and succumb to this siren's song of comfort?

I am, most of all, a Dragon Wolf. I stand on the razor's edge with my Team and I watch them cry, I watch them bend under the crashing defeats mercilessly piled upon them. I watch them doubt who they are and why they stand here with me. I watch them be blasted with ridicule for even standing at all. Worst of all, I see them be bled dry of the spirit that has for so long fired through their veins and lit the lamp of their hearts.

This is my stand. This is my Team. This is MY Razor's Edge!!! We own this land that none others want. My Team commands the view into the pit of desolation. We dance on that fine edge between light and darkness, victory and defeat, purity and defilement. We are the DRAGON WOLVES, CLAN DRACONUS LUPUS. We do not give up, we do not shut up, we do not let up. Down but not beaten, bent but not broken, wounded but not vanquished.......

    Honor, Valor and Victory.

Come dance with us on the Razor's Edge.

    HOWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

 Lets continue to show everyone that we will not give up, we will never surrender. We will ride the ladder weather it takes us down or up! Our next match is already on the horizon.. lets make it a good outcome! Now more than ever we must be strong :)

  3. :jima: Well said Manitou.

A team, like each of us, is defined during struggle. It's easy to be up when the world goes your way. It's much harder to do so when the world defies you. It is in these times that people and teams show their true colors.

Dragon Wolves do not run, they howl to rally their pack to the battle.

Our lands have been taken -- its time to get them back.

I once read in a book the following: "To win, you must seek to lose". I pondered this for awhile, wondering why I should try to lose to win? Then, after letting it simmer for awhile, it came to me...To win, you have to fight like you have nothing to lose. You have to put your heart into it, and give it your all...you dont worry about things like rankings or scores...you go out there and fight like a crazed demon....like a Dragon Wolf! You go out there every single time like this might be your last dance, your last match, your last breath. If you put everything you have into it, then no matter what the score is at the end of the game, YOU are victorious. Your TEAM is victorious. Ladders and rankings and scores are only one small form of achievement....You walk out onto that field with your teammates surrounding you, all dressed in the same colors, all ready to fight like this is the last time they will ever fight, and all willing to play their hearts out to help their team....THAT is achievement. THAT is a Dragon Wolf. Stand proud people....the war is just beginning.

  7. Very good write up Manitou.

I've always believed that Chance Favors the Prepared Mind. You guys have always been prepared so you know chance is always a favorable element. Anything can happen in a match and regardless of win or lose, it doesn't make you or your clan less then what you are but it will make you more experienced in the end.

I liked it. It is very true to the way I think.

How you lose is what defines a team, not how you win. Being able to pick up and continue on to the next match is what makes us great. It's where our strengh comes from. It's where our Honor comes from.

Sure, some of the teams we have faced have looked at our record and talked some shit about our team before a match, but almost every time, win or lose, they have walked away seeing us in a diffrent light. The way we conduct ourselves in game and out, almost always wins the other teams respect.

That is the thing that I am most proud of.

Our Commitment to Upholding our Honor.
