As we are pretty much a FPS-centric gaming family, I'm going to do my best to bring you details on how the upcoming Star Marine module is going to look, run and feel to you all.

A few weeks ago Star Citizen posted this little primer on how stances and breathing will be handled within the game. You can read more within the article. But it covers the three main stances in the game; Lowered, Ready and ADS. Why three stances? The devs feel that with these three stances, players "will make smart, tactical decisions based on their overall abilities rather than attempting to blindly run around and gun down everything that moves!"

Lowered stance allows you to move fast; like sprinting and jumping. Lowered stance is also where you'd be 'firing from the hip' which will spray your ammo all over the place. The article says that there will be little chance for you to compensate while firing from this stance.

Ready stance has your firearm up in a ready to fire mode. This would have your weapon up against your shoulder (if you were firing a rifle) but not looking down the sites. What this allows for is quickly bringing that firearm of yours into a position where you can do the most damage without aiming down the sights. This mode of travel is slower than lowered stance, but quicker than ADS.

ADS (Aim Down Sights) is exactly what it means. You'll be aiming down using your sights at the enemy. This provides the least sway, recoil and spread will be as tight as possible given the conditions/firearm you are using. But all this comes at a price. Movement is greatly impaired.

Read up on the article a bit more that will also provide how breathing will play a key factor within Star Marine.
