Yours should go under the HD series my guess. They have the old 9x series, the X series for X800's and 1900XT's I guess. The HD covers the 2400's, 3870's, 4870's, etc.

I just pre-ordered the digital deluxe version at D2D. Its all the best pre-order options of all the download versions. No box or nice manual\art book but don't really care about those. Would like the communicator badge, but I'll just save the $20.

Even if its not perfect I know I'll get a good amount of entertainment out of it and hopefully last me until JGE.

 

This guy has some good videos of in game action. Think they banned him lol but can still watch it. Got the FP beta today. About half way through downloading. Only get a day or two of closed beta play I think, tommorow and sat. Open starts on 12th though.

Got my first impressions in yesterday. Servers will be back up this weekend and I can't wait to play. If nothing else, if your a Trek fan you'll geek out pretty hard for a while. Lots of little cool things.

Space combat is pretty fun. Fairly simple early on, blast, maneuver, blast, maneuver, etc. The higher level skills look like they will add more complexity.

There is definitely some skill to space combat. On battleships you have to focus hard on one side of shields. If you get out of position and they get another side turned to you you are pretty much starting over. With multiple ships though its pretty easy to overwhelm multiple sides of their shields.

Large scale fleet battles are pretty cool. Got blown to bits a couple times when I got to far away from other players and got overwhelmed by a few Klingon battleships. No loosing your ship and all the money you spent on it like EvE, you just respawn. Did not appear to be any negative effects.

Ground combat is ok. Definitely not fps quality. Has a Mass Effect feel but much rougher. Hopefully they improve this as time goes on.

Lots of customizing options for character, ship, crew, etc. Overall its a decent base to build from if its semi-successful. Looks absolutely amazing at 1080p with HD5850. Was surprisingly lag free and overall stable. If have any interest would get a $5 pre-order from a store like gamestop to get the early beta code. Atleast get a week or more to try it out and then can always use the pre-order money towards some other game if you don't buy it.
