System build issue

Discussion in 'General Open/Public Discussion' started by Aeternus, 3 Jun 2005.

  1. Ok...so i'm trying to put together a new system... i've gotten everything in except my new ps and hd... i figured i'd start putting the rest together...

    Parts include:

    Antec P160
    DFI Lanparty SLI-DR
    AMD 64 3200+ rev.e (venice)
2 Gig Corsair Value select 3200
    Leadtek 6600GT

    On the way:
    SEASONIC|S12-500 RT
    Seagate 7200.8 Sata 250 GB

Issue is that upon trying to mount the mobo onto the mobo tray, the board rests unevenly. I matched up and installed the standoffs on the tray, but one of the unused standoff sockets sits right under a plastic reinforcement (for CPU socket) on the back side of the mobo.

    see my anandtech thread here

Any help/ ideas would be great

  2. ORANGE

    ORANGE DragonWolf

after rewarding the anandtech thread I'm assuming it's resting on the cpu support?

  3. yup...its an oval shaped plastic piece that sits right under the cpu.

  4. well...i just hammered out the standoff socket...bent the tray up a bit...but was able to beat it back into shape
