Tech Help

Discussion in 'General Open/Public Discussion' started by Mignonne, 1 Mar 2005.

  1. Okay guys, i have another of my wonderful Tech questions for all you really smart guys out there :) (and believe you me, i am soo glad you guys know almost everything)
I have a very good friend that is getting a WoW error #132 Memory can't be "read" error when she tries to run WoW. She said that it only happens since the patch and that she does not have any extra programs or any of that stuff. (for this very reason)
Anyone have any idea what it could be? She said that she has uninstalled and reinstalled WoW hoping that it would be fixed!
If anyone can think of anything else i will pass it along to her.
and Thanks in advance for any advice :)

I'm gonna go with a memory, drivers (as the first post states), or heat problem.
The last one being the least likely. I know a good deal of people that bought great computers but went cheap on the memory ( ) which ends up biting them in the ass later. And WoW seems to attract a great deal of people from my school who have lower end systems ( 3-5 year old Dells and the like ) that.
Something else that just came to mind the posts that I do see on that thread either have some really high tech specs or low tech specs ( I didn't read the whole thing admitadly ) which leads me to ask the question on power supplies. Failing and overworked PSU's ( like memory an often overlooked part of system building ) can cause problems. Feel free to shoot me down on anything I'm wrong about, that or if you take exception to the lower end systems comment.
