The children of men

  1. Watched this movie last night with my friends. I thought it was a great flick. the acting was very believable, and the feeling of despair was palpable. It was a very different take on the end of humanity then what I've seen done before.

Yes great movie! I watched this and Pan's Labyrinth on two consecutive days..... needless to say, it was a good weekend for movies ;)

p.s. - Any movie that uses a Sigur Ros song (not sure if it was in the actual movie, but I know it was in the trailor) is alright by me!

    Have you seen the fountain?

  4. I enjoyed Children of Men...but felt like it was building towards something and it never developed...otherwise thought it was well done

  5. I just watched this yesterday on a flight back from England. What I thought was most interesting was the views and preceptions on immigration. And how similiar their problem is to ours and how some of the public reactions are similiar to what is starting to happen here as well as England.

I think the thing that could have made the film better was, there was nothing that explained what was given people hope. Otherwise, there should have been total anarcy. It was leading that way, but I'd have been interested in what the story teller thought that keep "some peace".

  6. Pan's Labyirnth was an awsome movie. Saw that in theaters a few months ago. Very good movie, even with the subtitles.

  7. There was a lot of social statements made in Children of men. As far as what was giving people hope. I think everyone was still expecting a child to be born. One of my favorite scenes in that movie was near the end. When all the fighting stopped. I don't want to say much more for the folks who plan on watching it. But those brief stunned moments for the people involved we really well done.
