The Eminem Show

Now I know that there aren't many other hip hop fans that frequent the boards here and normally I don't even bother mentioning the subject, but since Eminem's new album The Eminem Show is so damn excellent it might be a crime not to mention it.

Seriously, his lyrics, rhymes, beats, maybe even Marshall himself have matured. The Slim Shady LP started it all, The Marshall Mathers LP took it to a new level...Em takes The Eminem Show and raises the bar to a level that most likely will be untouchable for some time to come.

You've likely heard Without Me by now as it's the first single and that's pretty much the one token "rip on people" song. You may have also heard Say What You Say depending on what area you live in, a collabo with Dre that is just sick. If you don't believe me about the rest, get the cd and listen to Business, Cleaning Out My Closet, Say Goodbye Hollywood, Sing For The Moment, or Till I Collapse just to name a few. This may be one of the rare cds that reaches near perfection.

 

Yes even I, a hip hop fan at heart, might think the same thing at first, but after listening to the whole thing he actually deals with quite a few serious subjects; his daughter, his mom/family, white america, stds, kids(columbine type kids and the effect music has on them) and he even does it in a mostly serious manor.

But hey, if you don't like rap, chances are you never will.

 

Oh, and no the cd isn't out in stores yet, I think the street date is June 4th.
