This was an exclusive article in the just released PC gamer. It's an RTS with amazing graphics (The magazine has a few in game graphics that I wish I could show) that look almost exactly like the movie. Not to be confused with the other Lord of the rings RTS being made by liquid entertainment (which is way to much like warcraft for me and has shit ass graphics compared to EA's game).Because melee is going to be a huge thing, they will have realistic looking combat, with each individual unit parrying and slashing. Don't expect just tiny units either, you can also get Oliphants (gigantic elephant looking thing) that can plow through lines, with units literally flying in the air. The game will also have amazingly realistic terrain including sights from the movie. Keep your eye out for more information.

  2. I'm SOOO there.
I'm a huge Tolkien fan and I'm stoked.

WTF is with this "auto quote" crap? I tried to reply and it automatically quoted Legendary until I cleared it.

I believe you are downloading the beta to the other game called War of the Ring, rather then the one I was talking about, Lord of the Rings: War for Middle-Earth.
I downloaded a demo of the game you are getting beta to, and if you have ever played warcraft 3 you will see they are incredibly similar, both graphically and in game play.

  6. Instead of using the Small reply button on the bottom right.. scroll down a bit further and you'll find a larger reply button on the left.... use that one...

The little one replaces the quote button from the old forums.

Yeah I read it uses the C&C generals engine, a game I happen to have, but the graphics of War for Middle-Earth seem at least ten times better then generals.

  9. Since I have both Generals games out now I can't wait. The engine for it is pretty smooth (allbeit EA screws up every bit of netcode they touch). Now if the graphics are better that's going to make the game even sweeter.

They better not have the online system that generals has, you get ranked even if you win games against the computer, no matter how hard they are set at. All anyone does is build up D send in a scout then nuke, ion, or scud storm the hell out of the enemy. Plus the in game economy sucked so badly. A stockpile has like a million dollars and it costs about a million to get any decent building or unit. Though I do like the partical effects :D

Any one got any links for The Lord of the Rings: War for Middle-Earth? I'd like to see some screen shots and read any info about it.

The only info so far that I have seen was in November's PC gamer, I have yet to see it up any other place.
