    I've never understood gatling guns in space.
    I mean. It's deadly cold out there. Like really cold. Why would you need to rotate your barrels like that?

    To allow the magnetic field that protects the barrel from the accelerated particles to regenerate between shots?

    And this is the inane rambling of an overworked paramedic, but if my high school physics recollection is correct, heat doesn't radiate very well in a pure vacuum.

    It RADIATES just fine, otherwise earth would be pretty cold. :p There is no convective on conductive heat though.
