Not sure if this has already been posted.... heck I may have even posted it.... I am too tired/lazy to look :p This seems to be the next "big" mmorpg.

lots of interesting info comming from (very)early beta. I especially like the fellowship xp thing. You can earn xp for friends that can't play as often as you while they are offline.

    Caravaning also sounds cool.

Looks interesting. I especially like the idea of friendship XP.

It does sound interesting, but as I've learned from many MMOs, promises during alpha/beta should be taken with a grain of salt.

On a semi-off topic note, I'm surprised of the number of MMORPGs that are being developed. MMOs are a niche market; most of the people interested in these types of games are already playing one. Due to the large time investment required in such games, players are hesitant to leave behind what they have achieved with their time spent. Thus unless a new MMO is vastly superior to the preexisting ones, it will have a hard time gathering a sufficient number of players. Because the rate at which MMOs are "dying" is much slower than the rate in which they are being created, the overall MMO player base is just further being divided. For example look at this chart: http://www.mmogchart.com/Chart7.html . EverQuest, which was released over six years ago, has a much larger player base than its sequel, which was released less than a year ago. This division will hurt everyone (by everyone I mean businesses) except for the obscenely popular games (such as World of Warcraft and Lineage 1 and 2) for obvious reasons. Yet many companies are still eager to jump on the MMO bandwagon, and because of this many of their games will follow the path of The Matrix Online…or worse.

I heard that Vanguard is extremly hard core, it takes all the hard core aspects of RPG's and puts them on crack cocaine.

Granted I doubt it will be as "easy"/soloable as wow..... I think all the hardcore talk is just so the main (former-EQ) guy can keep his street cred. :p We will see, but I think mainly what is going to happen is vanguard will really concentrate on having lots of end game and other material to keep the hard core folks happy. I don't care who you are, if you are developing a game for Microsoft the main objective is money. Catering to only the hardcore and isolating the casual majority will not earn you that money. And that makes Bill Gates a sad/angry panda
