Westwood Studios Revived!

Discussion in 'Upcoming Games Discussion' started by Derfud, 24 Apr 2004.

  1. I posted this on PSU, and thought I might post it here too. This isn't really about an upcoming game but the revival of the dev studio we all know all know and love.

Not only that, they have a history of taking games that would have been mad cash cows and canning them for 'an orginal concept' like Privateer Online for Earth: Above and Beond, or BattleTech 3025 for Moter City Online...

I'm trying to remember this isn't an 'EA should Die' thread...really I am!

  6. DIE HEATHEN EA!!! stupid game canning BS....What sort of a smacktard removes above mentioned games for their failing counterparts including all above and the great sims online.....

/me take a minute to read

    Oh.....silly me..not a EA should die thread...hrm.

Yes!!!!!!!! Hopefully they will revive the C&C series instead of that piece of crap EA made "generals" which didn't follow C&C in any way.

  8. Generals was cool, but it just wasnt C&C. Lest we forget westwood invented the RTS genre with Dune 2, the game that gave birth to all the other C&C games thereafter. They even had their own filming studio where they did all their ingame cinematics, and by the time they were doing Red Alert 2, they had famous actors like Kari Wuhrer, and Udo Kier in their cutscenes. Hell even in Tiberian Sun was starring Michael Biehn and James Earl Jones. Not bad for considering when they started off, they didn't have enough actors, so the cinematic director (Joe Kucan) ended up playing the role of Kane. When EA dissolved westwood, they even sacked him :(

  9. Wow! I must've really been living under a rock, cos I didn't know about this.

Third Tiberium War, here we come.
