    Aaron, you are so sweet! Your support and friendship means a lot to me. <3

    I know this doesn't seem like that big of a deal but for me, this was really hard. It's my first wood project, my first time designing a piece of furniture and I had a lot of serious health problems while making this thing, not to mention I almost ground off one of my fingers with the grinder. Lots of splinters and blisters and sweaty guys at the lumber yard laughing at me. Several people telling me I wouldn't be able to do it because furniture is too hard... But I also had a lot of people in my corner, supporting me, being enthusiastic about my idea and encouraging me to give it a try.

    This chair's not perfect, but I made it all myself. I had an idea and I made it happen.

    Hehe, nice.. Very "Dr. Seuss".. I've built deck chairs and tables, and it's not easy.. To make it a nice piece of art too is an accomplishment on top of it all.. No one should be laughing now :)

    Thanks. You guys are wonderful!

    And asp, several people have made a connection to Dr. Seuss when they look at this chair. I was going to tone down the red of the candle at first, but when my daughter said it reminded her of the Cat in the Hat's hat, I had to leave it. I love Dr. Seuss and even use his books to teach my preschool art classes.

    you should take a picture of yourself in it, or your kids with a biiig smiles. I LOVE it, the paint job looks top notch. It seems like it would be interesting from all angles, which is cool.

    I'm in the 4th week of my sculpture class doing my first ever sculpture and it is a lot of fun, but a whole lot of worky worky. I should show my teacher that :D

    yup.. game art and design. I've done a lot of drawing so far which has helped a lot and a little 3D, but this quarter i have sculpture :D

    For our first assignment we got to choose 3-5 toys from a massive pile of toys our instructor had and then compile them into a new toy for the sculpture. Mine is the head of a panda, with Mr T's haircut, wolverines costume, and arms of a bug. It looks really wierd but its been fun so far. Its due next week so I'll post some picks for ya then

    My chair won second place! That makes me happy. It was my very first wood project so that's not bad at all.

    Second place = $750 prize. Wooohooooooo!!!

    dosent seem like much o_O. what in the world are you talkin about? That is a seriously impressive piece of work right there, i have several friends (art majors) who would be jealous. Oh, and as a writer i just have to say one thing... art? perfect? of course it is. It is perfect the moment you decide to stop making it... and if you pick it up again, it will be perfect when you are done working on it as well. That is the nature of art... each piece is unique, and therefore always perfectly itself. That piece also happens to have quite the aesthetic value to back it up :). My hat is off to you -bows-.
