Hey BR!!! Merry Christmas to you!!

  3. I actually heard the story about this guy's house (can't remember where it is):

he spent 30 minutes programming 1 full minute of the music and the entire thing was about 10 minutes in length (meaning a god awful # of hours total programming). He hooked the audio equipment to a sound board to "dance" to the music and also hooked up the music to an FM transmitter that broadcast on the lower end of the FM dial (the least used I suppose). Then when cars passed by they could turn their radio to that frequency and listen to the music and watch the show.

Then of course the cops apparently stepped in because of the increased traffic and higher volume and it seems asked the guy to shut the display off or reduce the time he had it on.

I wonder if the FCC got involved in this too. I didn't know you could just broadcast and FM signal without regulation.

  6. You can as long as it is under a certain wattage. Basically the same rules that let me use a FM transmitter in my car for my iPod.

  7. ...and I think it must be "passive" (allowing for interferance from other signals...) as well.
