3dmark2k3 - Scores

Discussion in 'General Open/Public Discussion' started by Asmodeus, 11 Feb 2003.

  1. I hope not. that would kill participation :(

  2. my sig was made in PhotoDraw. Compliments of Javis and myself.

  3. My sig is actually Photoshop, although it's not my best effort, I thought it was about time I made a different one.

I was actually talking about his score being PSed. I was joking at first but now that I've seen more scores and I haven't seen any in that range I'm starting to wonder... heh :D

What kind of system do you have Al?

  4. Here are a few:

That score is from a Raedon 9700 pro that was overclocked quite a bit running on a overclocked 2000+ that was running quite a bit faster than normal. The system was actually one I was building for a neighbor that I happened to have just finished. I usually play with a 4600 which did worse. I think DX9 helps the score. I never really was one for benchmarking, and I am certainly not a ATI guy. but their cards are getting better and better.

As for seeing heigher scores, come visit Anandtech.com. Quite a few beople have broken 5000 with overclocked to hell boards.

  5. Damn, I know people who say they have a lot of computers...they don't have that many. Heh. Yea from what I can tell people who have installed DX9 and have Radeons are faring better off.

  6. Heh, I built an aerial for my truck and installed a system so I would not miss any T2 matches, and could play from work. I connected and played in a match on 2 different occasions using that system. I know I got some pics of that somehwere. Lemme find them.

All powered by an inverter. Did pretty nice too. I managed just under 300 pings when I had to do that. Only worked from about 20 parking spots @ work though.

  8. Talk about onboard computers....

Truly, it boggles the mind. =)

Oh, 3571 in '03 on the Radeon 9500 Pro 128 8x card. (Sapphire) Not as bad as I was guessing. Not bad at all really. But I agree, 03 is VERY lopsided towards ATI for the currently available hardware.

  9. I have ceom to find out that ATI did some of the coding for it. boy, I wonder why their cards do so well...

that above link points out a HUGE flaw in 3dmark. Also, according to nVidia's "reverse engineering" the test uses different grading methods for each card. meaning instead of allways rendering the same picture for different cards, it actually changes the picture paised on the card. so in thery the ATI cards are getting "easyer to render" pics than the nVidia cards.

in other words, this benchmark means absolutely nothing. :( but hey, not like we paid for it or anything.
