I hate religion too, but I'm a Jesus Freak - do you hate me? ;)

  2. As long as you don't come up here and preach to me about the sacrifices he made for me and why I'm going to hell, No. However, if you do that, I will promptly take one of the swords off of the wall and stab you in face.

Strangely enough I am with Cyrus on that one.. a bit scary.

  4. To emphasize: FACE!!!

But really.. I don't care what people's personal beliefs, or lack of beliefs, are. What I hate is religion. Religion and faith are two different things. Religion is a way to control a mass group of people into one large, many times warped, belief system. Faith, in my mind, is your picking and choosing ideals from various beliefs that you agree with.

To put it simply, what I hate is people who try to force their religious beliefs into others lives. Islamic extremist or catholic protestor... both need to be stabbed in the face.

I will only share the gospel with those who are seeking to hear it. But once you open that conversation, be ready for some Truth, baby!!! :D

  7. Sadly (I just looked), BD didn't post a full body shot in that old CDL picture thread.. or I would have had to google some assless chaps and used my MSPaint skills.

Edit: One more thing I just thought of. A few years ago I got to visit the vatican. Walking through the Sistine Chapel will turn you athiest through boredom. It's great at first.. "Oh look that's pretty" and "Oh look at that architecture".. but after the first section IT'S 20 MORE SECTIONS OF THE SAME THING.

  8. Oh Cyrus...you know I'd never do something as criminal as that...

Actually I think I did have a full body shot when I posted my Halloween pictures.

oh noes what have I done!

  9. I'm a jesus freak as well and will talk to anyone who wants to listen. I blare christain music from my truck (thats what sound systems are for).

If you dont like what I'm saying then dont talk about it with me. I set out to be a missionary, however prayer and a few others things lead me to helping people on the water. I'll not force my views on anyone else, however I'll make damn sure no one sliences my voice or views.

People only hate what they dont understand. There are a great many people of all religions who are extream and go over board. Those are the ones that give it a bad name.

I'll leave saying, dont hate something unless you've studied. Dont judge anything by the super outspoken people.

Lastly dont go out of your way to prove you dont need to study something to know you dont like it. I can name countless people in history who's views I didn't like or agree with.

  10. Oh I agree paladin. That's why I spent the first 14 years of my life catholic and went to 8 years of religious education. ;) The fact that I understand it is one of the things that makes me dislike it.

  11. Let me make something very clear here guys. This is not about religion. This is about an idiotic extremist who has no respect for the people who have given their lives. Let's not loose sight of that fact.

I don't talk religion simply because I don't want to get in huge arguements with people. If someone brings up the subject, then I'll discuss it. Otherwise, I usually let it go. Every so often (depending on different factors) I may make mention of the subject in a round about way just to see if the person would be open to me discussing the word with them. If I get signs that it's a no go, then I stop.

But again, this is not like that. This is a disrespectful moron who thinks he knows what's best when in reality he has no grasp of what's best. This isn't religion. This is the beginning of a cult.

  12. Religion is hands-down the worst idea mankind has ever come up with.

  13. me...i have faith...i have a belief...ask me about it..ill share it...i don't belong to any organized religion...but nor do i condem or put down those that do belong...unless...thier organization is spreading hate and intolerance...ignorance and greed imo is what has tarnished many good beliefs and a good way of life...christians, buddists, muslims, whatever...there are still many who do follow the true ideas of these faiths...and i respect each and every one of them...its a tuff world now...we have come so far in acceptance of others and appreciation and respect for others beliefs...that when the radicals come out of the woodworks it makes it so much harder for those true to whatever path they are on to be accepted as "normal" and not a jesus freak or terrorist simply because of thier faith...

its amazing that we left the old world to avoid this sort of behavior, these kind of actions and hate and persecution...to me...this fella doesn't retain one ounce of what his religion was supposed to have taught him...he's no better than the trash that litters the streets here in nyc...his fame died out when people started ignoring him...when his people where laughed at during pride parades...and invited to join in on prayers for a better and good life thru jesus from people who he finds despicable...

Indeed this guys doesen't represent everyone whom has a faith or religion he is just a whackjob plain and simple. You can interpret the bible any way you want if you look right.
Perhaps the best post Mog has ever made. ;)

  15. There has never been a problem with religion. An organization of one's spiritual beliefs into traditions is not a bad thing. It provides community and comfort and a place to explore those beliefs.

The problem is that people tend to think that their religion is better or "right". The need to convert people to the "right" religion is what's killed billions of people throughout history.

In the end, the only people that really know the truth, are dead.

    You will be assimilated.

  18. Never assimilate...you make an ass out of you and...and...mil...mila...mil...

    ...

    ...maybe assimilate is fine.

  19. While everyone is jumping in on the subject-I may as well also.
Please understand that religion is something you can take off or put on whenever you want-(something like a coat). True Christianity (followers of Christ)- (not everyone who calls themselves a Christian is one-like this guy you are talking about)-is something that burns deep within your soul. If you are a true Christian you follow Christ to the best of your ability (which isn't much) then you ask God to help you be more like His Son.
Everyone, understand that all the religions of the world are much alike, except for one-(Christianity). This religion is the only one with 100% correct prophecy, 100% of the time. It would be a correct statement to say that only God knows the future 100% of the time. None of us do. If God says, that Christ is His son and the only way to heaven, it may be worthwhile for you to look at the facts for yourself.
Hey Mog: your exactly right-religion is man's way to reach God.
all the religions of the world work that way except for the One I mentioned above. Having Christ be Lord of your life-is not man's way to reach God,
It's God's way to have a relationship with man.

Just a little something for everyone to really think about!
    Have a nice day =)

  20. Make no mistake, the "just in case" justification holds strong ground. My point is simply that the only people the know if we'll be met at the pearly gates by St. Peter, escorted into heaven by Jesus Christ, find seven virgins waiting for us, reaquaint with our bretheren in the Halls of Valhalla, or be reborn until we achieve enlightenment, are dead. Else faith wouldn't have much meaning now would it.

I think faith, spirituality, and religion can be great and powerful sources for humans. At the same time, "just in case" it's the other guy who turns out to be right, maybe it would be prudant to be respectful and tolerant of their beliefs. That way, their god might be willing to let us slip by instead of casting us into the seveth level of hell or reincarnating us as a gnome.

I have no problem with religion, I have big problems with intolerant religions and people.
