    When you play make sure to DISABLE VOIP settings!

    Hit escape, Options, Audio Settings, VoIP Settings and click "Disable VoIP"

    People around you will be able to hear you when talking if you do not.

    Is currently downloading the beta. Perhaps tonight I'll get a chance to get some gameplay in.

    Heh, I get the game downloaded and the install is going great until I get this error;
    "C:\Windows\System32\MSIEXEC.exe
    Windows cannot access the specific device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access them."
    I did not install the beta into my C: drive, so that's where I'm assuming the issue lies. So I went to try to download the client again, and the servers appear to be down.

    So how was the gameplay to those that have played the trial? I plan on downloading tonight now that I have the new vid card in etc.

    I still am not 100% certain I'll be playing this game at launch with everyone. I got the game to work after a bit of wrangling around with it, but it just doesn't hold my interest right now. Perhaps in a group setting it will be different.

    Again, I just started to play and I got off last night when Jenn, TB, Mani and Hamma just got in.

    I'll see how I feel as the week progresses. But if you were to give me a Go-NoGo decision it would have to be NoGo.

    Jen and I now have unlimited playtime until friday.. so it looks like they have lifted the 5 hour thing.

    Anyone have any other thoughts on this game as I have not purchased it yet and didnt get a chance to play beta since I had to upgrade vid card etc. Is it worth $50 bucks? Thanks

    I'm assuming you can, but I hope you can shut off VOIP in that game...

    I mean, that's just asinine.. Pay to play the game and pay more to shut off their income generating ads? I can't even believe they're trying that..

    They are using a 3rd party product for voice, looks like they are attempting to do this rather than increase the cost of their game.

    Regardless, you can turn it off.

    If people are looking for a thrill ride, it seems they might be better off at the moment with PlanetSide. There are so many reported problems with the game's engine, it almost sounds as though they released a year too early, if not more. At the very least people may want to wait a few months before buying a game that takes an insane system to run, and a connection that isn't going to break down every five minutes from endless latency bugs.

    APB got bad reviews all around.

    Game reviewers now though only cater to the highest bidder, I have no faith in any game review anymore only those of my peers. It is not nearly as bad as you are typing it out to be.. take it from someone who actually played more than 10mins, most reviewers login and run around for 10 mins alone. haha

    Is it perfect without issues? Of course not, but these idiotic reviews are just that, idiotic.

    Looks like they're not publicly giving up on APB, but then again, if you're going to sell something it doesn't make sense to seem like you've lost faith in it before you get it sold. Maybe they're going to keep supporting it, who knows...

    How long is anyone's guess though, that doesn't look good for the game no matter how it gets spun..
