Unless they added something else to the law, the zoning regulations still apply. So they can't come and bust down your house then plop a Walmart there in a residential area. The people this will affect are owners of small businesses, which is kind of crappy since they have enough problems as it is.
So you can put down that gun now Mani.

Read an article today that texas is going to amend their constitution so that this won't take affect for them.

They already had lawmakers saying that they are going to jump on the ruling cause they want a piece of land with 2 restaurants on it and condem it so they can put in an 8 million dollar private marina.

"Houston Mayor Bill White and Harris County Judge Robert Eckels offered assurances that the city and county do not intend to condemn land for private development projects.

But officials in the beachfront town of Freeport, south of Houston, said they would move aggressively to condemn property owned by two seafood companies to clear the way for an $8 million private marina"

    Money talks.

  3. Someone here at work was just telling me that a guy got himself an LLC and created a hotel. He proposed to a city/town, that one of the justices that voted for this action resides in, to build his hotel on the land that the justices house is sitting on. I giggled.

Check this site....not sure if I have posted this before. But this person has some insight on oppressive governments....why he is here (in the U.S.) now, and why he made this site.. (This site is about the Right to Keep and Bear Arms...but it also shows a perspective of what the U.S. is heading towards. He is from the former Soviet Union)

He breaks it down, but starting at the FAQ Link (bottom of page) is a good idea...gives you some background as to where he is coming from.

And this link is even better

If you actually get through reading all he has to say, I commend you! Lot's of reading, but he makes a lot of sense. Common Sense.

If only there were more like him in places that could make a change......

Besides..you have to love the pictures with the quotes!!! Awesome!!!
