Thanks, I needed that. Hey the Cardinals game is about to start? They aren't from L.A. so let's root for them Man they need to kick the Astros tonight. Losing the first of this three was big. Going to be tough catching them for the division title.

 

Sorry, but the Giants are chasing them for the wild card spot in the play offs, and i need Bonds to hit another few homers tonight to make Big Mac just another foot note in the history books.

Nobody likes Bonds, he's a buttmaster. Lol, I do wish him well though. I like Mac but truly.. The home run record became truly worthless when Mac blew it away. Sammy chased him and it showed their isn't just 1 guy who can do it. Mac isn't a Michael Jordan. He's just a guy who can hit the ball. Thing is now there is 2 or 3 others who can do it to. Bonds gets the record, in 2 more years another person will beat Bonds. Their is a cieling to it but I don't think it will be hit until we have a record around 85 homers to 90. Don't think guys can get above 90 in one season. Its possible but I doubt it.

Will have to see what happens over the next couple decades.

Yeah I guess that is a good point. There has to be a cieling though at some point. Only so many AB's a hitter can take within a season. 162 games figure on average 3 AB's a game and let's say that means 486 turns to take 3 swings. I just think 100 is a good ideal cieling. Nobody is going to hit a homer more then 21% of the time. That would be truly amazing.

 

well to maintain an avrage of .300 you need a hit every 3 at bats. If all of those were homers you could get 162 no problem.

 

Yeah but nobody would hit every hit as a Homer. Even if you like fly out fly out Homer, I mean its just impossible. Also the nature of human beings. We are not a constant creation. To much within us that causes fluctuations in our state of being.

Its the nature of slumps.. Even the best players have a slump. Its what makes us great. We aren't perfect. Although I wish were. Wouldn't have to worry about Wars or Osama Bin Ladens.
