Well PumpMonkey, i am interested in both, but to my knowledge there is no competition sword play, so fencing seems to be the choice . Besides, fencing is worth learning in its own right.

 

yah i knew someone who didn't get that good grades but was good at fencing and got into a good college.

 

ill mispel this and PM will scold me but wut he is tawking abawt is calld Stadge fighting and there are scools in alot of playses now me and PM have a frend that teaches it and PM has takin lesons many times..

and Queeny starfier wepons arnt sharp thay are made to be used in stadge combat . can you nit. alot of the armor in some black and white move's frome the 30's are nited.just call it practis armor..but paperclips are a good idea to ...most fares also sell wooden kids swords. in fact let me look and i mite have one laying around ill be glad to send it to you if i can find it ...

and yes renfars are very expensif iv ben an actor at one for 19 yeres now and i only alow myself to buy one or two things out there and only 5 buks a day in food and let PM provid me whith the beer i drink i think this will be my last yere out there my 20th ..

 

Shrike, you need to give us some more info! We go to the Ren fairs when I was in Ohio. Post some pix guys of yourself in armour at the fairs!!! that would be cool.

I have a suit of Chain and a few swords (I love the starfire over all the others I have, just because of the feel and the no nonsense look to it)

ummerr oops .ill look. PM actchaly has some from many yeres ago but ill look for some reasint ones.armor well iv ben in the stuf 3 times out ther full playt .pain in the ars .it is way heavy and hot .as for wepons i never realy caryd them mutch thay are a pain so after 5 yers of lugin it around i stoped waring one.iv cared a X-bow for several yeres seeing that i wus portraying a highway man.and for the last cuple iv cared a billy club seeing that i wus the toun jailer..
