It's time game companies understand PC and Console are totally different animals. 14k sigs as of this morning.

Over 140,000 Signatures. Still silence from IW, their system requirements for the PC version should be "1 Xbox 360 or Playstation 3"

 

And there is going to be nothing but silence from them. They've already put the ball into play and it's tough for them to take it out of play. They dug their own grave when they made that announcement. Would have been better, from a marketing perspective, to promise the moon and stars and then, upon release, they ran into 'complications to the MP servers' and had to shut down that part of the game. But never fear, because thei IWAR system will be put into place shortly! Keep your PCs on and ready to download the latest patch fix that will help our PC multi-player brothers and sisters out.

 

PA can take a hike the console fanboys.

It is a trend though dumbing down gaming in favor of making them more accessible to console users. Things like match making, and even worse a server system like that means that IW can rape PC users for every little addon just like they do on the console in form of downloadable content.

The bitch about this kind of thing is that most game companies just don't learn from mistakes like this..

Ubi did it years ago with Rainbow 6: Ravenshield.. Amazing demo came out and friends of mine played it non-stop online, LAN parties, you name it.. That, and it was ONLY 2 maps in the demo.. Really well done game..

Then came the retail release, and something we didn't have in the demo: game authentication.

No problem, except that their authentication protocol had most likely been designed by a coked-up lobotomized cross-eyed spider monkey.. It worked fine if you had a cable connection, but irritatingly denied practically EVERYONE with a DSL connection.

Pleas to fix it or at least turn the system off (or to auto accept) everyone until they could find a fix were ignored.. So I'm sure PLENTY of copies were returned to the stores not long after. Even those of us with cable eventually returned the game because most of the guys we play with couldn't get on to play.

Seems like not long (if not right after) after that Ubi basicallly just did console titles and ported them over to the PC. Never quite making the connection that "poor sales" was probably more a product of "bad decisions" on their part than interest from the PC community.

Hopefully other PC gaming companies will follow their lead. And hopefully MW2 PC sales will totally tank and they will do only console games from here on out because it's obvious they only care about that
