    The Miata owns the drift courses because it's not very stable, you can barely turn and you'll start accumulating drift points, I got over 20k points on one series of drifts with it. I had like 250k+ total.

    Just an example of the Miata's Driftability, not really trying:

    They key on Drift no matter the car: Emergency brake. :)

    I had the hardest time trying to win those damned things until I got off my ass and mapped a key for the e-brake.

    I was using the miata all the way up until I got the rsx..... so far the rsx is hella fast.. highest top speed

    I haven't unlocked the RSX yet. By the sounds of it there is no difference between front wheel drive and rear wheel drive.
