Slapped in a Geforce 8800 GTS and I can now run the game at 1024x768 with roughly 85% of the graphics at full (motion blur off/shadows medium) and it runs fine. Now I just need the 680i nforce chipset and a core 2 duo processor and I'll be set for the future titles.

Alright, I upgraded my video drivers (nVidia) to the 97.44s after I got my Geforce 8800 GTS and noticed a *horrible* decrease in performance. So I reverted back to the 96.89 driver and saw a massive improvement in performance. 3dmark06's canyon flight benchmark went from averaging 10 or less FPS to 30+. So don't get nVidia's most recent drivers, because they suck.

After doing some searching, it looks like everybody is having performance loss issues with 97.44. Just revert back to an older, pre 97.xx driver and you should be good.

I just installed this game and by golly its a kickass game. No problems for me .. As soon as I get settled in at home I will be on more often and such.

Vegas PC Patch 1.03 Available
The 1.03 PC patch for Rainbow Six Vegas is now available! You can grab the patch from any of the mirrors below, and check out the patch notes after the jump. Dedicated server software is now also available for download via the link below.

Patch Notes:

Enabled PunkBuster support.

Fixed the game session creation bug (network failed to initialize) when using HTTP proxies (like Norton Personal Firewall) by using a different destination port.

Fixed a dedicated LAN crash.

Fixed the server listing that was capped.

Fixed a bug that prevented picking up weapons when taking a dropped weapon from somebody who was in zoom mode when killed.

Fixed the secondary console that was assigned to the quote character by default.

Fixed the radar jammer sound that stays even after death.

Fixed the floating C4 explosive and motion sensor floating when put on breakable items.

Fixed the menu problem when mapping the [End] key.

Fixed the chat so that it does not trigger actions when typing.

Fixed a problem after picking-up a weapon on the ground equipped with laser beam.

Fixed the canister that resets in Retrieval when the carrier is killed while taking cover.

Fixed a Retrieval mode bug that caused a 2nd match from having no reachable canister.

Fixed a bug that caused the user to lose his weapon without picking-up the one on the ground.

Fixed some incorrect mapping messages.

Added a check to warn the user if an instance of the game is already running.
